You're probably right. I was noticing 5 goals over 54 games at ND. Missing on a guy as a 2nd rd pick is concerning a bit. - mhp
Since when? You're lucky to get a gem in the second.

So you are saying it isn't worth drafting guys in the 2nd rd? I would hope you find some good players in the 2nd rd of drafts. |

Kris Baker @SabresProspects
Hudson Fasching from the right circle wins it 1:08 into overtime. Minnesota defeats Ohio State 3-2 in their B1G opener. - homiedclown
He might be our best prospect on the wing right now. |

I guess the "Reinhart and Eichel both stink because there are other rookies getting more points than them at this stage of their careers" comments should be starting.....now. |

Followed closely by the "Kane is overrated and we gave up too much for him/why doesn't he score 2 goals every game" comments. |

Last night looked like the best lines and player management in a game so far. All combos looked good, if not great; we had several sustained periods of offensive pressure; special teams were solid; Girgs ALMOST got as much ice time as Gio; 4th lines played a big part; nobody took the bait when Scott was trying to get a scrap going. We won a challenge, woo=hoo!
And it was fun to watch. |

I have been pleasantly surprised by Reinharts rather quick development...which O'Reilly is playing a key role in...that contribution to building a future star and O'Reilly's own play make that trade a steal...through in McGinn and I believe the Sabres came out on top of a trade apparently good for both teams.
I love watching Eichel, but I'm not afraid to say that his game has flatlined over the past 10 or so. Still trying to do too much...Bylsma needs to find the right combo for him and to me McGinn and Girgensons are your best options until a sniper can be found...hopefully on the right side ... IF Ennis can regain form and provide it eventually great...if not, then that would be my primary target in the draft.
A monster L-Dman would then be targeted for free agency.
Overall...I absolutely love watching the development of young players...reminds me of the 2nd and 3rd year of Sabres, circa 1972 |

The question for me now is can O'Reilly take on Jack for a 2nd mentoring role.
It is working for Sampson ... Would like to see Jack's game begin to move forward again. |

Btw - I bought 9 Eichel Jerseys on AliExpress yesterday as gifts for relatives.
Waiting to see how mine fits before I purchase my ROR jersey.
Thinking of a third...maybe Bogo. |

Grigo has 1g 8a for 9 pts pulling a regular shift and 15:00 TOI
Zadarov hasn't been seen in the National League since early November.
For now, at the very least, that trade is absolute larceny. |

Of course not. I am saying that I am not concerned that a singular second rounder might not pan out. |

Still a long way to go before the trades are judged but the early returns are excellent. I am a big believer in the idea that whoever gets the best player usually wins the trade. |

Agreed. The Jets trade is an even tighter call right now. I almost think we won't be able to measure that one until after the players involved leave the teams or retire. It's that close so far IMO.
Ps- don't come at me with Armia and Lemieux. Those two can go sit in locker rooms with towels oover their heads, weeping, as far as I'm concerned. |

the big thing, which I mentioned before, is now you have lines playing at the proper level
in the past there was third liners playing 20 minutes a game, and 4th liners playing 15 minutes a game
on D, we had 6th/7th d men playing 20 minutes a night
right now, our 4th line may be as good as the islanders, and I was nagging on that group a few weeks ago |

Watch the interview w Foligno from last night. coaching has everyone understanding their role and buying in. Talent is for the most part slotted properly. Despite some holes, they're gelling.
We're not done, but we're dangerous. |

They sent Schaller down and he would have been the extra F. Three game road trip so they probably wanted a 13th forward. I'm guessing he'll play at least one game |
