Good win...thought they controlled most of the play...different team with Ghost and Medvedev.. Giroux looks like a different offensive player on PP since Ghost has come up...interested to see how Hextall handles the return of Streit, should the Flyers stay healthy on the backend, when he returns around the new year.
Man I wish Vorecek would just keep shooting. |

Thought NJ had the better of the play in the second half of the game...surprising coming off the back to back
Devils are the first team to adjust to ghost on the pp. They closed in on him tight and what do you know the passing lane from g to Jake opened up

The Devils made somewhat of a push, but the Flyers were still the better team all game. I think the Devils had less than 10 scoring chances in the game, and only 18 shots in the game. |

That's the great thing about Ghost...he's a real threat back there....he opens up ice on the PP....it's kinda pick your poison when your playing against this PP unit. |

Flyers had 26 scoring chances, 16 at even strength. Devils had 6, with 4 at even strength.
Meddy/Schultz did real well. Two best possession players. Each smooths over other's weakness areas. We will see tomorrow if that continues.
Second line, interestingly, was less visible than in any other game in weeks. That's my eye and possession numbers with that one. Just didn't notice them at 5 v 5 too often, and they finished meh in the CF%. |

Phantoms won tonight, too. Stolarz had another huge game. |

Geez. It didn't seem that one sided to me. Probably Bc neuvirth was killing me after that first goal the rest of the way I was on eggshells |

He's also added so much energy and confidence to this team. Almost like he's made it more fun for the rest of the team to play. The kid has a rare quality. Both Gostisbehere and Medvedev are a big key right now.

I read both Umberger and White are real close to being ready. I hope that triggers moving Voracek back with Giroux.
I thought Cousins had a real strong game tonight with limited icetime. |

I thought manning played one of his best games tonight. He's been good recently. I would think about sitting Schultz ahead of him when gudas returns |

I wouldn't. The Medvedev/Schultz pairing was real strong tonight. No way I even think about playing Manning over Schultz.
At ES tonight, Schultz was on the ice for 3 shot attempts against, while Medvedev was on for 4 all game. Not shots on net, shot attempts. |

Boruk has been his style guide of late.
I saw his suit. I didn't find his suit garish or anything like that. But I guess even when he scores people have to complain about SOMETHING Read does |

#7's should only play in case of injury or suspension.
And Streit is only 3-4 weeks away, too. The Manning as an everyday player era is hopefully coming to a close. |

I'm no Schultz fan, but it has been apparent lately he is guarding blue line a little tighter than he was before. Even if he's not good at it, he's adjusting instead of back pedaling. Just something I've noticed more: little more aggressive. |

Medvedev changed the picture out there, paired with Schultz. Instead of losing the shot differential battle, that pair dominated it. It's a small sample, but I'd give it another shot.
