You will not get Jones or OEL for a package centered around RNH imo. Hamonic is likely as good as you'll get, and with his contract, it's a damn good trade.
- rangerdanger94

As good as hamonic is, and I think he's a top 20 defensemen, maybe higher, I don't konw, but I still wouldn't trade RNH for him. RNH is a sweet two way centre and nothing is more valuable than a two way centre in my opinion.

No poop they would. No brainer.
- TheIronSheik

How much value does Reinhart have at this point really? RNH is a good player but being on the fence to trade him and Reinhart for Jones depicts exactly why trying to have a healthy debate with some Oiler fans on this site is like hammering a nail into a wall with your head.

Has Hall ever even scored 30 goals in a season yet?

Yea...and that's with being fed 1st line minutes and being put out on every top PP unit.

I understand he's had injury issues and that should he play a full season, he likely scores at least 30 goals once...but those injury issues are more of a knock against his durability than an excuse IMO.

He plays for the oilers- he has no value
Bad team = bad player

Now they're even debating halls value

Meh- they're every bit as much haters as any homer they accuse oiler fans of

Hall is an elite player none the less. His problem is staying healthy. RNH is a good player but anything Reinhart has shown thus far hasn't been impressive least of all not being able to crack the blue line on a very weak defensively Oilers club which says a lot. Being hesitant to include him in a deal for Seth Jones is laughable and no other team gives a poop what the Oilers payed for him that has zero factor on his trade value.

He's had an 80 point season, been top ten in scoring twice and 2nd in ppg once. all by the age of 22. And is top ten again this year.
Actually even has a better ppg than seguin

If You wanna find excuses to devalue him, point getting would be a be a silly road to take

He is a hell of a point getter, that is true.

I think the little dose of reality you're trying to inject to the fsnbase of the delusional oiler fans regarding rnh's value might actually be kinda apt. That said, I'd also say that the same reality check might need to get taken for those delusional isles fans who believe hamonics value is that of an elite player.
A really good one, yes.
An elite one, no

In fact, I bet neither fan base would be totally happy with that return in a straight up trade. (satisfied is probably a better description) but neither fsnbase would be any less incorrect.
Even the crazy, homer oiler fans who inexplicably don't wanna get gutted in a trade

The only way we get better is by accepting the lowball offers for him by adding a secondary defender and a plug

I think the Oilers only untouchable are Hall n Nurse. They have to try and make some kind of move with the core though. Can't keep going down the same path thinking next year it will all come together because of all the young talent.

Don't just look at goals. Hall is a top ten NHL player and there's not even a question on if that is true.

Top 10 player or Forward?

Toews, Kane, Malkin, Crosby, Benn, Seguin, Ovechkin, Lundqvist, Keith, Karlsson. That's 10 off the top of my head, who do you remove? Hall is an elite player, but to say there isn't even a question whether he is a top ten. Well you're you so I guess that's to be expected.

Agreed for the most part but I think few islander fans believe or expect the return for Hamonic will be that of an elite player.

And Getzlaf, Perry, Stamkos, Tarasenko, Price, Schneider. But no doubt about it Hall is no question a top 10 player in the league, can't even argue it.

Not this exact topic of Hall, but Tanner definitely states things like Franson and Gardiner are #1 d-man and then...
