Sports is a business dude, and guess what? If he wasn't worth it he wouldn't have gotten paid 3 times. Maybe once, but not twice, and certainly not three times. You may not approve of the publicity, which the Avs are just as much at fault for, but that doesn't mean he's not a good leader. One of our best leaders in Sabres history, Mike Peca, held out for an entire year over a contract dispute. Sure he never played for the Sabres after that, but it doesn't diminish his on-ice accomplishments. And he still lives in the area, so he obviously doesn't hate the place.

he got the A in july before they even knew anything about him I dont think they gave him an A because they thought he was a good leader I think he got it because they thought he was a good player

doing well on the ice doesnt always mean youre a good leader. lots of very good players that arent natural leaders and oreilly is one of them. certainly cares more about himself then the team which is a big reason why hes no longer in colorado
