Yes, it is, no different in that what you offered was your opinion. 2.25M for a defenseman of Schultz caliber and experience is pretty dam cheap, and it's a good value signing.

I think only 7 ufa defenseman signed for more AAV than Schultz last year. They didn't even need to replace him. They ended up with MDZ, MDV, Schenn, Gudas, Amac, Streit and Manning

They didn't need to do a lot of things, but they chose to. It was a good value signing.

I wouldn't be comfortable with any of them against top lines. I'm not comfortable with Schultz against top lines too though. Thats my point. Why not go with MDZ-Gudas, MDV-Streit and Amac-Schenn? Does Schultz really improve that top 6? I still believe the Flyers could have gotten a 2nd or at least a conditional 2nd for Schultz.

I agree that I wouldn't be comfortable with any of them, including Schultz. The Flyers think Schultz is the best choice among all of them, and I agree with them. We can put any combination together, including any of the players in the minors and say why not go with this? We could play that game a hundred ways. I don't believe that Schultz would have gotten the Flyers a 2nd round pick, conditional or not.

Thanks Bill. Appreciate the injury update. Last night's game was a dud. Maybe bringing back Umby, and White messed up the team chemistry. Cuz, and McD were troopers when they were up with the team. Plus, they provided some energy, and added a spark to the team. I would have left the other two players off the roster, or sent them down if salary came into play.
On the other hand, the .500 mark has been some sort of wall for the team; they don't get to far away, up or down, from that number for some reason.
It will be interesting at the trade deadline.

Nick Schultz has a Teflon suit to a lot of the media, I noticed.

Against the Senators, Medvedev blindly wrapped the puck along the end boards, Ottawa got the turnover, and scored. Medvedev got destroyed by the broadcast team, the intermission guys-Morganti & Boruk-and 80% of the beats on Twitter. He did deserve it.

Last night Schultz did the exact same thing on the second Ottawa goal. Barely got mentioned on Twitter-except by fans. Didn't get his name said on the broadcast or intermission report.

If Nixon got treated as well by Woodward & Bernstein as Schultz does by some of the folks covering the Flyers, his frozen head would still be President.
