No doubt, they needed to rip off the bandaid on this one. They can't stash a $5m player in Lehigh for another four years. They need to find him a home either in Philadelphia or on another NHL squad.

I think MacDonald will go back down when Streit and Schenn are healthy, and then come back up when one or both of them are traded.

Are there any good RFA defenseman you might be able to get. Something in the way that Buffalo got Bogosian? Maybe a player like Gudbranson? Maybe not him exactly but something like that.

The only 2 that come to mind would be either Matt Dumba (not too familiar with him) or Madison Bowey. Bowey would become our second best prospect after Provorov.

I don't know, I think they should give the Voracek, Bellemare, Vandevelde line a few more games. So close to breaking out.

Oh yeah. As I said a few times, I wouldn't be shopping him or actively be trying to trade him. I'd listen to offers, and if a good enough one came along, I'd do it.

Nate Beaulieu & Sven Andrighetto isn't enough. Even if they took Vinny, I'd be reluctant to do that.

I doubt anything happens until the trade deadline anyway. Could be a totally different landscape by then.

Sanheim and Ghost are both better prospects than Bowey. He's an offensive dman with 3 points in 18 AHL games.

I wonder how much of an impact the coaching staff had with Hartnell, as well as the money. It's been widely reported that Hartnell & Berube butted heads.

Either way, there's enough other factors there to make me think that there's more to the surface there.

I know he only has 3 points, but I'm speaking based on his junior numbers and what I've seen in limited viewing both from Kelowna and the WJC.

@davegisaac: Jake Voracek will go back on the top line with Michael Raffl and Claude Giroux.

About time he's back with Giroux. 1 goal in 27 games is hard to fathom.
Raffl has no business playing on a top line in the NHL, but none of the other options are ideal.

Just gonna say it: The Flyers will not trade Wayne Simmonds this season. I'm sure Montreal and some other teams are interested, and I'm sure the Flyers and other teams are interested in Tyler Seguin. It doesn't mean either will be traded.
