Simmonds is worth more than that assuming the 1st is from a top 10 team. The prospect needs to be really good, like McCarron in Montreal.

Nope. Not a Stafford fan, and while Morrissey is good, I don't think he's any better than Provorov/Sanheim.

We see the impact that Gostisbehere has made, and other young defenseman such as Ristolainen have. Will Provorov make the team next year, and how much of an impact can he make right away? That could accelerate the climb.

Why does that matter? You make the best deal for your team and franchise. Not because you like a guy. I'd sent him to the worst team in the league if I am getting the best deal.

That'd be anyone with sense. Ehlers has top line potential, could be a 30 goal scorer every year, and Trouba could end up being a franchise type defenseman. If you called Winnipeg and offered Simmonds for them, the only thing you'd hear is laughter and a click

It would accelerate with signing Zaitsev too

I like Myers, but the deal would have to be bigger since his cap hit is higher than Simmonds.

LSchenn + Simmonds for Myers + something since Simmonds is worth more than Myers

Also, Winnipeg are in danger of missing the playoffs (same Points% as us) and I think it's best to trade Simmonds to a real contender. To get the best value for the Flyers, and cause Simmer deserves it.

I think they might be able to get even more. Simmonds has a very friendly contract. He's younger than Coburn at the time of the deal, and isn't coming off a series of injuries.

He does have an NTC. But in any case a contender is more likely to overpay for Simmonds than a bottom 10 team.

I think it was Simmonds, Phi 2014 1st and Phi 2015 1st (not lotto protected). So, Ekblad for Simmonds, Sanheim, and Provorov (or possibly better).

I think the 2015 1st was included as well. Hextall demanded it be lotto protected and Florida said no.

They needed the body, and hopefully he can play well enough to either make his deal palatable or build trade value. Unless they trade Streit when he comes off LTIR, MacDonald might not be up all that long.
