Now you're sounding like a leaf fan. Ugh. - sippyd
Well the Oilers have struggled against the poopty teams so far this year, they were due is all. Losses to Calgary, Toronto and Carolina? Pathetic. Had to break that trend.

Sabres didn't hit for sh*t tonight. Their game looks much better when they finish their checks. Not sure if they were too timid of if you guys are just that fast, but the Sabres made you guys look fast tonight.
The only way to slow down a team like Edmonton is to put them on their ass, and the Sabres just didn't do that. I'm kinda embarassed by my teams effort tonight.

Well, the Oilers were all over them in the 1st...down 2 takes a lot of wind out a lot teams sails.
Pretty sure coaching cant be blamed. Give credit where it's due. Oilers turned it on after that goal in the 1st. - Jeropotato
It was a mix of the Oil having a good game and the Sabres having a particularly bad game. The Sabres gave up too much room to a team that generally struggles to find space.

Well, too much room, too many Sabres turnovers, a lame PP, and a sv%of 850 for us and 940 for them.
Sabres were up one though. They should have gotten more aggressive. But, they didn't.
Coaching? - seedy
They had the matchups they wanted all night bcz of home ice advantage. We needed a pp goal or atleast for our pp to generate a few chances. Also they got a few lucky ones (long tip and they kick in goal) and our shots that beat the goalie just hit the posts. Thats the breaks.

Hallmark characteristic of young teams is inconsistency. You can see it from game to game with this team and occasionally from period to period within a game.
They'll grow out of it. The flashes of brilliance and sometimes dominant play are exciting and the head scratching nights seem to come less frequently as the season goes on.

Exactly. I knew that we'd see this type of stuff all season. It's nice to see Eichel rolling a bit more again though.

I'm not giving up those kind of assets for a guy that's going to be a UFA in July. - HonkFortheGoose
I've said this before, but when you trade for a high profile UFA like that, nobody makes that trade unless the two teams are in the ballpark with the agent as far as the ability to re-sign.

I am going off that assumption, they have talked, but nothing in place.
agreed, and I really really like stamkos - homiedclown
I just don't think Tampa Bay is going to pay him. They want to resign, but for less than Kane / Toews money. Don't blame them, but Stamkos will want that plus a little bit.
Other thing that is interesting, I don't think you get taxed in Florida for income so less could be more?
