8 goals and 3 helpers
I expected it to be the other way, nice to see him pop them in, but he needs to get some primary assists as well to take it to the next level - homiedclown
I think the playmaking will come with more experience. |

On another note, Vrbata sure would look good on Eichel's wing. |

Some players are late bloomers. Like Matt Moulson. But Matt Moulson's bloom seems to have wilted. |

IMO Moulson should be playing 14-15 minutes a night, same as Gionta
and neither should be on the ice for a 3 on 3 or shootout attempt

You just can't uproot some flowers from their natural homes on John Tavares' wing.

Gionta, yes. But Moulson is paid to be a top 6 forward (I guess you could argue Gionta is too, but I don't think anyone expects it from him). At the bare minimum Moulson should be putting up 20 goals/40 points. He's on place for 10-ish goals and 30-ish points. Last year he got a pass because the team was shyte, but he's showing decline on a much improved team, and that is worrisome, especially with 3 more years on his deal after this year. We can hope he bounces back, but I doubt it. |

Hopefully he can be re-planted with Eichel. I hear he has good mulch. |

Moulson is tied with a bunch of others as 64th highest paid player up front
I thought that he would have been closer to 80th highest paid player than 60 |

Larsson and Grigs have played well too and generated decent offense while typically playing against the other teams top lines |

I'm flew into NYC last night for work. Got to my hotel around 11. Stole a friend's Gamecenter Login as Vancouver made it 4-1. Turned it off. Went to bed. |

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night.
I see that we out shot Vancouver as we did Edmonton and we still came out of the game on the wrong end of the score.
Was Linus that bad last night or is it our d-core?
And I'll keep saying that I think Reinhart is playing better all around hockey than Eichel.
I am so pleased with Samson's play to date and the way he continues to grow game by game. |

Even though we out shot the opponent in both games they were out played in both pretty badly.
But I agree, Samson's play gets better each game. A small bright spot of yesterday was watching sam skate through the neutral zone with the puck and not making a quick pass to ROR. Little strides each game.
I want to say now i'm not bashing eichel but sams developing on a much faster pace imo. Sam started in the bottom six and has made noticeable changes to improve his game. Jack's loves to have the puck on his stick but lately its better just to get it deep and forecheck. |

Agree on Samson.
You can just see the young man beginning to play with more and more confidence as each game passes.
Eichel needs to slow the game such as Samson has in my opinion.
Jack's play seems erratic at times and right now is a one trick pony scoring from juicy spots in the slot where as Samson is scoring in many different ways, many different areas which is far more impressive in my opinion. |

Exactly.
When he play against his age last year you watched him control the tempo of the game.
As you mentioned i agree that he's adjusting to the NHL tempo with each game.
He still gets tossed around quite a bit but he should be a hell of a player when he gets bigger. |

I am pretty excited to have both Jack and Samson on this team and O'Reilly.
Future looks very very bright for us that have suffered long enough.
Both the Bills and Sabres since their inceptions and my Cleveland Indians losing the 97 World Series to the Marlins.
Best closer in baseball on the mound for the Indians in Mesa in the bottom of the 9th that allows the Mrlins to tie 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth.
Then Nagy goes on to give up a single to friggin Edgar friggin Renteria in the bottom of the 11 th to lose the World Series when the Indians were the better team by a country mile in that series.
I was beside myself to say the least.
Still waiting for a championship just to feel that euphoria.
Hope I can feel that one day...
edit: my older brother got to finally feel it this year when his Royals won the series.
I was soooo happy for him. |
