$3.75M for this year and next. They're pretty close to the cap, so they'll get $3M+ in space. - jmatchett383
I hope Dupuis is on the phone with Vinny right now planning a nice long vacation away from the cold, cold ice of hockey. |

What other executives get hired away and compensated for? - Scoob
the rule was put in place for teams who have guys move onto different positions in other organizations. believe yzerman was the biggest of note. plenty of guys move around...even hextall. both leaving and coming to the flyers.
it was a rule that made sense until they started using it on guys who have been fired |

Maybe they found something is really messed up with his back and his doctors said he needs to step away from the game. - J35Bacher
MAYBE IT WAS HIS BACK THIS WHOLE TIME THAT'S BEEN HINDERING HIM AND HE GETS A STEEL SPINE AND COMES BACK AND SCORES 60 GOALS TO END THE SEASON!!

So Dupius is taking the "Pronger Retirment".
Maybe Vinny's back could be so messed up the Flyers think it is a risk to play him and LTIR him? |

He should. He's made millions of dollars already. Guys who make millions of dollars usually turn down millions of guaranteed dollars. |

That's ok if your doing it for a year. But you have to find talent in later rounds or on other teams. It's funny all these other teams are able to find talent and build competitive teams. Just not the sixers. - J35Bacher
But that is not the reality at all..
The idea in any sport is to win it all. Like I said earlier, over the past 33 years only 9 different teams have won a championship.
Those teams:
Lakers (KAJ, Magic, Kobe, Shaq)
Spurs (Robinson, Duncan, Parker)
Heat (Shaq, Mourning, Wade, Lebron)
Celtics (Bird, Walton, Parish, McHale, Ainge)
Rockets (Olajuwon, Thorpe, Maxwell)
Pistons (Dumars, Laimbeer, Thomas, Ben and Sheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton)
Bulls (Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Grant, Salley, etc)
Mavericks (Nowitzki, Kidd)
Warriors (Curry, Thompson, Iguodala)
In order to win it all, you need to pretty much have 2-3 great players.

And the most effective way of getting those player is picking in the top 5.
Also, it's cute that you use Iguodala instead of Green in the Warriors top 3. |

He was a huge part... defensively he is great. Sorta like how I included Rodman because he could rebound better than anyone. Also, he did sorta kinda win the MVP of the Finals. |

I didn't say it is easy. But the Sixers aren't even trying. The players they have on the team are there to purposely lose. They haven't tried to find any players to build with other then draft picks. - J35Bacher
What I don't understand is how it took Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler 4-5 years to become all stars, but you can make declarative statements about Covington and Grant after they've played 80 NBA games. Neither of them will be as good as Leonard or Butler (they are both legit top 10 players), but to say they can't develop into good starters is a bit ridiculous. |

For the Bulls, you could just put "Jordan" and that would be enough. Adding "Pippen" is overkill. |

Green might be a top 10 player right now because of his versatility. He's amazing. Having a guy who can guard centers, but play like a guard on offense is every coaches wet dream. |
