It's amazing how they've always been bad at the shootout. Changes goalies, changes skaters, it doesn't matter. They just suck at it. I'll never understand why. |

I didn't blame him for the goal. I blamed him for allowing the entry to develop. Other two were equally or more responsible. He put himself in a weak position to defend before there was even a 2 on 1. It wasn't the worst play tbh. More funny than anything given his situation and habits. Now, every other defensive play in the NZ he's (frank)ed up is just bad defense period. Go rewatch the game if you feel like it, I've been keeping tabs on it. His controlled entry allowed rate is terrible. Same old. Whatever. You'll find a way to sugarcoat it. - Mononoke
The forward that went off on the change, taking away any weak side in the neutral zone, is what allowed the entry to develop. MacDonald in that situation had no choice but to back in there. It's confirmation bias, and looking to see something that you want to see. I've been watching the entire game, and MacDonald has played solidly, and defended entries no differently than any other defenseman has. Whatever, you'll find a way to blame MacDonald.
