I'm having to roll with 3 defensemen in my Yahoo league, because I have Price who's hurt and now Bobrovsky who's hurt. I also have Jayden Schwartz and there's only one IR spot. So my goalies for the next month-ish are going to be Ramo and Condon, not great, and my defense is Karlsson, OEL, and Ristolainen. I had to drop Beauchemin; I could've dropped Kesler, but I think he would've been grabbed. I should've picked up Kilingberg when I had the chance that way it would've been a no brainer to drop Kesler. It's a head-to-head category league, and I only have a 7 point lead on 2nd. I'm 46-23-11 and 2nd is 44-28-8. I'm cautiously optimistic in HBSL this week. So far it's me 193.5 the other guy 135.5. Still 1st and undefeated in my division with 4211.5 points, and 6th overall in the free league. How's everyone else doing? The only other name I recognized in the league was Diddydeez nuts in 15th I forgot his handle, but I've seen him post in here before.
I watched the Bobby Fischer movie tonight, Pawn Sacrifice
I liked it
I did not know much about him, and thought it was an interesting 2 hours - homiedclown
Was it a feature? Or was it more documentary?
I don't remember what it was called, but maybe two years ago on one of the movie channels I saw something about the Spassky match in Reykjavik, and how he started to show signs of being not quite right in the head. He came out playing at an almost amateurish level and got crushed early, and then I think something about not wanting the cameras because they distracted him and he refused to play until they moved into a room with no cameras and finally Spassky agreed, but after that game everything was fine and he played in front of the cameras like nothing happened. And I know he was a huge bumhole, and one weird dude, but that's about all I know about the guy.

the bluenote tour in 88 now has a double cd
my first concert for him was the darien lake show in 88, sponsored by nobody
I highly recommend the double disk - homiedclown
That was a real cool show. He only played a handful of "hits" but the whole big-band thing was a ton of fun. Plus the old darien Lake amphitheatre was soooo much better than the newer one.
Saw him with the International Harvesters a couple years before that one and that was the bomb...all acoustic songs, slide guitars, harmonies. Then at The Crazy Horse show I got a little sick by putting Southern Comfort in our smoking device. Bad, bad move, but great show. Giant motorized cockroaches roaming around the stage was a trip, especially after smoking Comfort.

My father in law used to drink Southern Comfort Manhattans. He was a solid guy. They are actually a pretty easy to enjoy sipping drink.
Other than that, I have NEVER heard anything good coming from SoCo. NEVER.

The longer I sit here the more pissed off I am over the Sabres not claiming Semin. There's no risk, is Tim Murray really saying that he thinks Brian Gionta is a better line-mate for Eichel than Semin would be? I know the GM doesn't make the lines, but in looking at them and choosing not to take a player because he thinks the ones he has are better than the one on waivers is what I mean by that. The only thing I can think of is they don't want his allegedly piss-poor attitude to rub off on the young guns. The Sabres have ~$9 million in cap space and Semin is on a one year $1.1 million contract of which we'd only have to pay around $726,000 if I remember the rules correctly. That's less than 1% of the remaining cap space! Even if they have to pay full freight it's still basically a risk-free endeavor. - Wetbandit1
because we are not winning the cup this year and we don't want to ruin the young guys with what you called his piss poor attitude.. you answered your own question with your post.......

Semin is a scrub. There is a reason he has been dumped to the curb by two teams over the last two years. People that keep saying we should sign Semin or "scrub player x" dumped by another team don't really know much about hockey.
