Good effort, played well, deserved better. Isles are a good team on a hot streak. Flyers outplayed them tonight. |

another one that got away....
i agree with simmonds that he didn't kick it. he tried to stop it. then he got hit from behind and halak got his pad in the way of his stick as he tried to bang it in. bit of a tough break there. they deserved better.
i didn't see any of the 3 islander goals, but (frank) it, roll with neuvirth. right now he just gives them a better chance to win, even if a lot of these goals that go in on mason are unstoppable or of the grade a chance variety.
will voracek score another goal this season? |

Milbury extra salty towards Philly tonight. Of the Simmonds non goal "he got caught cheating" because players have time to stop and think in those scenarios and not just react. Then he groaned something at Jonesy about "Ugh. Philly and their goaltenders again." |

Seriously, Milbury's mistakes as a GM are why the Islanders are only now in he past couple years been a good team. You can make a good case that Milbury's mismanagement is why the Islanders are no longer on Long Island. (see Yashin) |

It was a clear kicking motion. If it wasn't it wouldn't haved bounced into the net off his foot with the velocity it had after changing direction. The kick happened prior to any islander hitting Simmonds. It may not have been Simmonds intention, but that means nothing. |

AMac played that first isle goal badly IMO. Yeah hes not the primary reason for the goal but weak D like that is why he's found himself riding a bus. To me he abandoned the middle of the ice and the most dangerous guy (Nielsen) to chase the puck carrier who was skating wide allowing an easy 1 vs 0 situation |

I didn't think halak was challenged all that much to be honest. High shot volume but he did a good job with rebounds. Got a bit lucky halfway through the third, but he did hang tough on some of those. Oh well. Onto the next one. Great game to watch |

No matter how good Mason plays the outcome is the same, tonite he was off but he always seems to start, Neuvirth gives the team a much better chance to win imo. Also Simmonds did kick that puck in from my view, one angle shows a distinct kicking motion, short but a kick. Voracek should just wind up and slap that puck at the net, he is hesitating and really looks like he has lost his mojo, who wouldn't being dropped to the fourth line. He is gonna be asking for a trade if that nonsense keeps up. That is all for tonite folks, Go Flyers! |

What's the return from Calgary?
Mason is an ufa at the end of next season already making $4.1 million and will be 29 years old. Instead of paying him a big contract extension with what looks like talented prospects in the pipeline, it wouldn't be a bad idea to trade him if the return was good. For a 3rd Rd pick, no way but if it was a top of the 2nd Rd pick, maybe. |

Milbury is a complete douchebag, but has nothing to do,with the isles move. They couldn't get a new building, I'm not sure why you put yashin in brackets?
I can't stand milbury, but not sure what you're trying to say here. |

I have been saying that. I would see what you could get in return for Mason. Maybe teams like Calgary or possibly Winnipeg.

What is up with Steve Mason? Did he commit some sin and is now cursed?
He was always the goalie who made the gimme save, most of the tough saves and most of the crazy saves. Now...who knows...
It is a real shame because when he is on his is a difference maker. Sadly he has been a difference maker the last two games the other way. |
