The Vinny Lecavalier-era-on-the-Flyers experience summarized in two gifs. The one above and now, this one:

Man, stats sure do change. It wasn't so long ago the entire Maple Leafs front office was laughed out of this universe for insisting shot quality mattered.

Of course, that wasn't the only contentious thing they said, but still.

- BulliesPhan87

IMO there still is a lot of debate on how much it matters. regardless of how advanced stats are, there are ways to skew the numbers

Lol yeah, but to be fair, shot-quality probably doesn't matter a whole heck of a lot if you get out-shot like those Nonis/Burke/Carlyle Leafs teams were.

I mean, he seems pretty convinced he's Gudas. Not sure if that translates to equal pugnacity. Perhaps it's time we arranged this experiment, for science's sake.

After what Vinny did to Brayden, I'd be afraid, very afraid.

Does anyone else think it's a bit redundant to have the "Road to the Winter Classic" this year? They're going to do behind the scenes types of stuff for Montreal and Boston, but they already have "Behind the B" and "CH24" which does that. I know that you need the NHL Network for those shows, but they already do exist.

I never watch the Winter Classic "road" shows. Not even when the Flyers played.*

I personally am upset HBO doesn't do 24/7 anymore. Love me some Liev
Schreiber commentary

pretty sure those are just old oil change episodes you've been watching, they just changed the colors and the title to trick you

Haha, I have honestly never watched a full episode of Behind the B, CH24, Oil Change, or the one about Pat LaFontaine's team that he coaches. Although the LaFontaine one would probably be the best.

my entire viewing experience leads me to believe the show was filmed just to prove Eberle and Hall can't cut it on their own without some maternal support

I'm assuming every episode ends with, "And despite Taylor Hall's performance, the Oilers lose 5-2."

I don't know what SSS means/is, but if there's no defined criteria for evaluation, it seems like a very arbitrary stat that could vary greatly depending on who logs the data.
- jmatchett383

I would guess the Oilers keep their own stats and they were part of why Fayne was waived, even though it was not necessary for cap reasons.
