The entire game, including OT. His shots were slightly late, his passes were not as crisp.
He did maintain possession well, but usually skated the back behind the goal line not to toward the crease.
He may have taken himself out of shootout selection by unloading his aggravation on a ref after the OT for entire intermission. - missingmike
He is probably pissed off at the Coach for playing third line minutes and I don't blame him. This is just getting ridiculous now. How are you going to get him out of his funk playing on the third line. He was third in scoring last year in the entire league, he obviously has the talent, let him work through this with Giroux. |

Konecny one of the leading scorers in the OHL this year despite having the lowest shooting percentage of any forward in the league 👀
Flyers sending 7 players to WJC this year. 2nd most behind the Coyotes who will send 8. - PhillySportsGuy
Flyers need to call up Konecny.

This whole place is starting to suck to high heaven because of a few trolling douche bags. Does anyone know of any rational Flyers discussion boards? Its too bad because Bill is the best there is, unfortunately there are too many bumholes in here that ruin the experience.
I am so glad I stayed out of here last night during the game. That first goal must have been the Andy MacDonald experience.

I think you're going to have to give up the internet to get away from trolls. And even then, they might still find you. |

I am ok with Raffl in a role. But right now I just don't like him as Crosby would say. I just don't like him.
Raffl as a 3rd liner, pker is more a role I want to see him in. Not a guy I need to count on to play a top line roll with my offensive catalysts like Voracek and Giroux. - J35Bacher
Totally agree but it is more a Hakstol problem not Raffls.
He wouldnt mind playing with RJ and Laughton but it is simple a fact that not Schenn,Simmonds,Gagner are able to play better the LW position
Raffl is more concerned that his a UFA after this season and how to justify a contract

I said he was more effective in his limited time.
Same to the effect that Vandevelde got his spot.
Never said he was an answer. But he could provide more right now then Vandevelde is providing. - J35Bacher
I don't agree. Lateral move at best and takes away from the PK. Vandevelde is not the issue.

Bill Meltzer: Wrap: Flyers Dominate, Settle for Comeback Point in 4-3 SO Loss to Isles - Bill_Meltzer
Last night was a game where you can't blame the team for the loss, it's just unfortunate. With this said, we have to be proactive. We have to be in on deals like when a guy like TJ Oshie is available. Good young two way player. He'd instantly add to our core and help in the shootout, where we lack. Voracek has got to be apart of the shootout. We also have to be in on deals that can get yoy a Doug Hamilton. I don't think we are in on anything regardless of certain contracts weighing us down. |

Isn't Raffl is getting paid only slightly more than the league minimum? I doubt he'll have a hard time justifying a new contract as he's defensively sound, can chip in some goals and is apparently well liked in the locker room. He shouldn't be on the top line, but it is what it is right now. Jake needs to get back with G. And when Gagner returns, I put him on the G's left and see what happens. Absolutely nothing to lose, and I think Gagner said he's comfortable playing either wing, right? |

The ocassional hesitation is not about being pissed off at the coach. That started long before he was moved off of the top line. He has a confidence issue that he will eventually get out of. |

If we can get enough dmen healthy to have the go-to OZ faceoff pairing be Medvedev-Ghost that could really help the offense a lot.
MDZ-Gudas
Schultz-Streit or Streit-LSchenn
Medvedev-Ghost
MacDonald back to the AHL till LSchenn is traded. |

But will he? We said this weeks ago and he hasn't at all. My only slight concern is this : last year in the offseason Jake was noted for making a diet change and losing 10-15 pounds by cutting carbs. Previously, Jake was called lazy by Columbus for his effort and training dedication. Did Jake take a step back with this? Did he continue this dieting and training this offseason? Did he ultimately settle his training after being signed to hefty contract? He doesn't seem like that kind of player, but you have to wonder solely on the fact of past comments belittling his training and effort. |

I didn't say it turned them into a cup contender. And it doesn't have to just be McDonald. If your going to play Bellemare with Voracek then I don't find it terrible to maybe bring up a player that can be more effective then Vandevelde.

To add: it seemed last year it didn't matter who was on Jakes line. He made plays constantly. You'd see him carry the puck mid ice and skate through 4 oppositions with tremendous speed. I haven't seen that once this year even through 2 oppositions |
