Interesting- Westcott stating Purcell isnt skating today- I dont think he got injured... Then again it was a rougher than normal last 2 games even for him
- saskoil21

I thought he played pretty good last night. His pass to Leon was great and he made some other nice plays as well.

Interesting twitter page. According to this Oilers heavily lead quality of man games lost in NHL due to injury. Not really a surprise but interesting. Nice to see them with the compete while going through this adversity.

He's played fairly well last 5-8 games, hasn't he? Or do just dislike the player?

As an Oiler fan and the news I have heard I will be optimistic. Jan 8. vs Tampa. I would even suggest Carolina but they have 3 days of rest after that game and I don't think Carolina is a team they feel need to bring him back for. Might as well extra few days to be sure.

He's been solid for the most part for awhile now. Was really solid last night.
It's been acknowledged by everyone around the organization.
and anyone with a clue would have to agree .....

Purcell didn't suddenly become a bad player in Edmonton in Edmonton after a decent run in TBay. They finally have a bit of a system and some continuity between lines and he is fitting in.

Its okay. I never thought I would agree to anything your trolling ass would say. I also don't understand the hate some individuals like Alex_oil has for Purcell. He has been fine for us imo. He is doing what we ask of him.

You're incapable of leaving it alone.

You were unequivocally proven wrong. Basically every counterpoint you assumed as completely and totally refuted by eberles words.
I suppose after your pages of bloviating, you feel a little embarrassed that your complete misunderstanding of athletes mind sets at any high level was fairly deep.

But it's much more embarrassing that you keep trying to twist it and rehash it.

These guys games are largely based on confidence and we can see how just a few wins can do wonders. That said, eberles words made it clear how low and fragile it was after 5 years of losing. But did we really need that interview? Most people just knew kinda automatically knew this. But I guess maybe you were so far removed fr any athletic endeavours it was something you couldn't grasp..?

You need to grow up abit and accept it.
That's the last post ill make on the matter, you can choose to continue to beat a dead horse forever if you like.

As far as the other two, they won't get the same left alone treatment because they're total morons, and stupidity is unhealthy and needs to be corrected

- Ihateallofu

And yet every time you always respond. Are you the pot or the kettle here? Or how does that saying go again?

Stating that the confidence of ALL OF THE KIDS IS FRAGILE, and then saying you have irrefutably proven this because of words you heard Eberle say in an interview. Is more a statement of your inability to understand that you cannot speak for an individuals level of confidence, or its breaking point in said individual, simply based on your own personal understanding and knowledge of this particular aspect of human behavior. You are basically saying that your understanding of this concept, is the gold standard by which it can be measured and how it works in everyone. You really need to read up on the terms "ego and ethnocentric".

Admittedly, I hAd sorta given up on him, but I think he's been a very positive contributor on that top line over the last while.

Not a great skater, but he's got two guys with him that can drive possession anyway.
And he's big enough to at least create a little space.

He makes far more than he deserves, but that's no reason to hate the guy. If he comes back it'll for much less.
Purcell isn't a problem for the squad right now at all.

Getting a skill coach and changing his stick length also helped.

Yeah it does you guys probably would have been quicker on the rebuild since you would have been building up the middle instead of on the wings. A lot of winning teams have been built from the wings out though haven't they?

Holy (frank) you're a child

And, before you continue to misuse it, ethnocentrism refers to the belief of superiority of oneself solely on the basis of culture, religion, and ethnicity. Effectively low-key bigotry. So perhaps you'd do well to read up on them, too.
