You are so close to getting it. You just explained in all of those separate definitions of the word "ethno" how I am using it. Just because you can't directly identify a particular race or religion here, does not mean that a person's culture is not made up from several number of different aspects. The "ethno" here can be made up of a variety of different elements of the environment in which a person grew up in.

I also appreciate the fact you aren't disputing the term egocentric though. Guess you feel that one is correct.
