As a Devil fan I watched him every game. He is not flashy. But he is the engine that never quits. Many teams do not have a player like him. When the other team has the puck, he will skate as hard and do anything to get that puck back. He has an awesome shot and amazing hand eye, for all those deflections. If he never left the Devils he would have been the captain until his career was over. He was the epitome of a New Jersey Devil. But it was more important for him get butt raped by his BFF Suter.

but he later sold low on perron. as he did with most of his trades. and he clearly made some bad decisions signing free agents. also drafted poorly outside of the 1st round. screwed up the coaching situation to boot.

really, failed at every key hockey aspect of being a gm and was a no-brainer to fire.
