adding ference with nikitin and fayne, you guys are now paying almost as much to three guys not to play as you are to the rest of your defense.

Is it acceptable now to say that fayne is garbage and that the isles wouldn't want him for hamonic?

- Isles_since_6

Of course, that's why I was asking no long ago for a Christmas miracle to PC to trade Fayne/Schultz for Hamonic

I want nurse for hamonic straight up, but there's no way that'll happen. Nurse isn't at Hamonic's level yet, but his upside is huge. I know the oilers won't move him.

Don't disagree with what you say, just trying to be a glass half full kind of guy.

A lot of the "busts" people sign from NJ are guys that played with Elias, so he padded their stats. Fayne sort of benefited from playing with Greene.

Think of Gomez, Gionta, Clarkson, Sykora: all of them played with Elias. Tells you how good Elias was. Holik was with Elias sometimes but everyone knew that was a braindead contract as soon as it was signed.

Mogilny, Niedermeyer, Rafalski, and Parise all thrived out of NJ after we lost them, so no, you can still sign Devils... just watch who they play with. But hey, I'd love it if people stopped picking apart the Devils so that we didn't have to sign losers to try to replace them.

but he later sold low on perron. as he did with most of his trades. and he clearly made some bad decisions signing free agents. also drafted poorly outside of the 1st round. screwed up the coaching situation to boot.

really, failed at every key hockey aspect of being a gm and was a no-brainer to fire.

- Tumbleweed

Sorry, I get that MacT was bad, but those two aren't right. Firstly, how is getting a first for Perron not a solid deal? Sure, he was struggling at the time, but do we really think Perron garners more than a 1st in a deal?

To the second point, just no. Slepyshev has already played in the NHL and Chase, Lagesson, and Yakimov are all trending well. His success or failure in drafting can't be determined until the prospects he drafted are afforded ample development time (draft year +5).

Raflaski is one of the most fortunate Defensemen ever, spent a ton of time paired with Stevens, then leaves NJ and plays a ton of minutes with Lidstrom.

JJ does great work, and as a blogger for a Dynasty team, he doesn't have to worry about hits.

Would be sweet!
When was the last 4 game win streak? Was Smyth still in the lineup?

1) Klefbolm playing behind Nurse.... is that right?

2) What are people's general thoughts of where the team is right now? Needs, where their going into 2016

It's not a situation of behind or ahead of. Klefbom is more experienced and is better right now. Sekera is our most experienced and arguably best Dman right now that plays a style that allows Nurse to be play more comfortable. A great learning position for him.

Why is Schultz still on the PP? Dudes been fighting it since he got back. Rather have Davidson in his spot.
