Anyone else think something is wrong with Jumbo?
Ever since he hit his head and could barely skate off without falling he hasn't been the same player. I hope he bounces back, but he looks like he needs some time off to get healthy. - mxgsfmdpx
He definitely coughed up the puck a few times last night trying to make some fancy passes. |

We struggled last year too, nothing new here. - BeastModeS62
Yeah, but didn't you want to crucify that coach because you thought it was his fault?
IDK, maybe it's not the coach. But for the talent level it's shocking. Paul Martin is clearly struggling and he is certainly a very good Dman. Either he's hurt or he's having trouble with the system. |

Brent Burns with another minus game bringing his total to -13, ranking him 4th worst in the league!
He needs to switch to playing with Vlasic when he's back, Martin can't cover up for his HUGE defensive liabilities since his injury.
And please just send Mueller away for good. He gets worse every game he's out there.
Our defense is atrocious and we will continue to lose night after night if DW doesn't do something. |

Listen, mclellan ran his course the same coach with the same struggling team last year. Sometimes you gotta move on, he was coach for 7 years. Pete is doing fine, will say it again... players gotta play. We wont be firing him 2 months into his new contract. For long time Shark followers this is not shocking. |

Ellis would be great for us but do we take that and subtract Pattys offense? Nieto I dont mind moving, maybe with another prospect and picks. |

From Kurz for those who havent read it, some interesting stuff both good and bad...
SAN JOSE -- Sharks forward Logan Couture is back on the injured list, but his latest ailment is unrelated to the fractured leg that recently sidelined him for eight weeks.
According to a statement from general manager Doug Wilson, Couture “suffered trauma to his right thigh, creating a Charley-horse effect which prohibited him from returning” to the Sharks-Oilers game on Wednesday, when he left midway through the second period.
After it was discovered that there was a small arterial bleed in the area, Couture "underwent a procedure to close the artery” in San Jose.
Couture is expected to make a full recovery, but the Sharks did not place a timeframe on his return other than to say it’s not expected to be a long-term recovery.
The Sharks’ 26-year-old center has played in just five games this season with no goals and two assists, missing 23 games after fracturing his fibula at the ankle in practice on Oct. 15 at Prudential Center in New Jersey.
He had one assist in 12:38 of ice time on Tuesday in Calgary, but didn’t make it through Wednesday night’s game in Edmonton.
***
Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic returned to practice on Friday. The defenseman has missed the last three games since he was unable to finish a game in Anaheim on Dec. 7 due to a lower body injury.
The Sharks recalled forward Ryan Carpenter from the Barracuda. In 20 games, the 24-year-old has two goals and 16 assists for 18 points, and is the Barracuda’s leading scorer.
Ben Smith, who has missed the last 18 games with a concussion, has been reassigned to the Barracuda on a conditioning assignment. |

Jesus people.
We lost a two way shutdown 67 point Center to injury for all but 5 games of the season so far, and a few games of our top Dman.
And they are still a point out of 8th in the west with 2 games in hand over #8
Hopefully Couture is not out for too long(Again), but given the loss of a player of that caliber, you have to expect us to not be great.
My bigger concern is Jumbo is probably hiding or playing through an injury. He was barely able to skate after his head hit the ice from that big hit and has not looked the same since. |

That being said. I am all for moving a forward for a Dman.
Given a choice, I would want to go after Spurgeon since his contract is up this year and the wild are likely letting him go with the upswing of Scandella, Dumba and Brodin(And of course, Suter)
And at this point, we have a surplus of forwards.
The wild have been running:
Parise/Granlund/Pominville
Zucker/Koivu/Niedereiter
Vanek/Coyle/Fontaine
as their top 9 |

Sounds more like everyone is just looking for someone to put the blame on and debating who to trade but I don't think that's necessary yet.. But my comment wasn't meant to be taken that seriously in the first place |

I was just stating that trading a forward for a D would help, Im not too concerned but we could upgrade the third pairing which would go a long way, we have plenty of forwards. |

Maybe we should be talking about trading forwards for other forwards because the offense is dead on this team. Cant buy a (frank)ing bucket. Frustrating to watch... |

I don't think our org has an abundance of quality players at any position.
EDIT: Not many tradeable assets in general |

Yeah were about average at all positions, if Jones had some run support we might not be 500 right now. Hope DW is working the phones because I dont see him surviving another poopty offseason. |
