First I've heard of this.
Also, this is a multi-million dollar business, I don't believe there is the loyalty to franchises like some people believe. The players are commodities and have been payed well for their services.

Bennington said he wants to retire the Sedins a Canuck a few weeks back. Words from the horses mouth . That right there ended my thinking that they would ever be moved

Really?! I get the feeling playing for the Canucks is really important to Hamhuis. Same as Willie Mitchell/Garrison/Linden before him, and the Sedins now. These guys want to be here and are asked to leave. Yes it's a business, but at the end of the day people want to be happy at their work a care about winning for the fans/city. These guys are so wealthy, at a certain point they have a preference I would think.

It's true. Same reason why Nylander is not in a leafs uniform and yet leads the AHL.

Nylander, Marner, Bracco, Kappanen, Brown. Talent wise, probably have MORE talent and speed than some of the current players on roster.

I really have an issue seeing buff as a legit top pairing guy ...he would be an amazing power forward who can qb a pp but he looks like an ahl D man once the puck enters his zone ....everyone loves him because he is huge and teams always want to find the next chara ....for my money big buff is just a bigger glorified dion phaneuf

I don't know about that, but I am on board with letting guys develop in the A. I think SHink deserves another look, but am also happy to see him develop in the AHL. Green seems like a great coach, Tampa has done the same thing with the triplets, Chicago with teurovinen, LA with Taffoli Pearson. Leave them down.

I have my doubts too, but he is way bigger and effective physically than neon-dion who can never seem to clear the front of the net.

Did you see the scrum where BUF was holding 2 Canucks at bay.

He has good point production, he can destroy a player with a big hit, he can be mean and clear the front of the net. Sounds ok to me

I could not agree more. I am all for taking a few years to become contenders at the expense of developing our players into complete players.

I'm all for it. Not sure he chooses the coast, I'm sure he'll have some suitors and teams like San Jose, NYI or Philly might break the bank for him.

I don't think the Canucks will carry Sven and Shink. IMO one has to go

Did you see him in the playoffs ? Outside of a few bonehead penalties He might as well been wearing a ducks jersey ...

It's quite simple really ...leave shink in the ahl this year ....play Sven to see if he can turn it around ...at years end you will know if Sven is staying in North America or not

Kinda similar to the Kadri/Nylander/Marner issue, I hope we keep shink as I too see them as similar but Shink has more upside IMO

Is that the same as "better player"? Because I thought you were saying they were of similar ilk, and IMO Buf>Dion 82 games per year and into the playoffs(easy)

If it were that simple

Again Daniel Sedin is Canucks first line left winger.

I see Canucks going into free agency for its second line left winger.

Shink is not big enough to be a third line left winger , same as Sven .

I am not sure we see either one on the roster next year but would not be surprised if they or one was.

Of course he is an upgrade ....but are you willing to give up the assets to get him ? You will have to give up enough to land a top pairing guy ...and mind end up with a more physical Dennis wideman

If you can sign him in free agency then that another thing

If Dion is on trade block no one wants his contract.

If Buff on the open market 20 teams want him
