Is that the same as "better player"? Because I thought you were saying they were of similar ilk, and IMO Buf>Dion 82 games per year and into the playoffs(easy)
- neem55

It means he is just a better version ....it was more a knock on buff than praise for dion

Kinda similar to the Kadri/Nylander/Marner issue, I hope we keep shink as I too see them as similar but Shink has more upside IMO
- neem55

As much as you don't like it all 3 leafs might be better than shink ...Kadri maybe not but the other two have higher upside right now

Of course he is an upgrade ....but are you willing to give up the assets to get him ? You will have to give up enough to land a top pairing guy ...and mind end up with a more physical Dennis wideman

If you can sign him in free agency then that another thing

- Redmile247

Hansen Grenier not Bo and McCann , that's a big difference.

Like I said when we started this debate. Teams that sit around with their thumbs up their ass not willing to give up anything , watch teams like LA sign players and win cups.

If it were that simple

Again Daniel Sedin is Canucks first line left winger.

I see Canucks going into free agency for its second line left winger.

Shink is not big enough to be a third line left winger , same as Sven .

I am not sure we see either one on the roster next year but would not be surprised if they or one was.

- VANTEL

I think shink can crack the lineup ...Sven will only be a Canuck next year if he changes his attitude

If Dion is on trade block no one wants his contract.

If Buff on the open market 20 teams want him

- VANTEL

20 teams might want him as a rental for a playoff push and 20 teams might want the player but I doubt many will be in negotiations with him once he hits FA.

He will be looking for a massive contract and while he is a very impressive player at times, he has also looked pretty bad at times.

He isn't a #1 D but he will be paid as one of the top 10 in the league.

They are definitely better than Shink. Problem is 3 players to fill one spot, much like some of the Oilers soft draft picks

I think to get buff your looking at giving up some part of the latter ....you package Hansen with grenier you aren't even in the convo

I can't say it any simpler that he is way better than anything Canucks have.

No they haven't. Canucks fans have been pushing for Hansen to WPG , but I have never seen anything written that they covet him
- VANTEL

I have coffee 2-4 times a month with one of WPG's top scouts. He doesn't give up much info but he has made it clear on many occasions that the Jets have been watching Hansen.

What are the kings offering . A third liner a prospect and a pick. My offer a 1/3 liner a prospect a pick

Jensen 2.0

I am not saying you are wrong but if that is the issue he could have visited the gym everyday.

- VANTEL

Fair enough but I still think Shink's upside is much higher than Jensens. I wouldn't say Shink is a bust yet. A full season in the A is doing him good see how he looks at camp next year.

I see:
Marner as a 1W
Nylander as a 1/2 C
Kadri as a 2/3 C

I do agree having that little of size in your top 6 might be an issue ...but ...playing in the east ....spread them out over screw lines ...if worse comes to worse you trade Kadri I assume

I don't think Jensen is a bust . I think he could be productive for another team. Too many players ahead of him on Comets and Canucks

The vast majority of stuff that gets printed is usually false hence the fact that well over 90% of trade predictions never come true. Back door deals that are out of the press seem to be the ones taking shape. The Scout from WPG always tells me that they have to so careful nowadays with Social Media. They are under constant gag orders from team MNGT.

I would have to agree that Jensen on an eastern team of sorts might work out. He is not cut out for the west as Shink may not be either...Just think Shink's upside will be there with time.

The Kings probably offer a better prospect at least

If a team wants buff they will have to give up something the don't really want to

I'm not as high on buff as most are but you aren't getting him unless you give up at least one if not two more valuable pieces than Hansen
- Redmile247

Oh... for sure it will take more than Hansen I was just saying if that deal ever happened I wouldn't be shocked if Hansen was a part of it.
