You need a big guy that can fight. He is very young still . I remember Pens giving up on guys like Engelland Despres. I would definitely take a chance on him over Pedan - VANTEL
I would hope they would take a vet like Burrow, I'm not down with any dealing of draft picks myself. Let Benning do what he was brought here to do: Scout from afar |

More than fight, you need a Dman that can clear the net, take some abuse and punish the opposition in the corners.
We definitely lack that up front, need more of it on the backend. - dbot

and salo was a huge part of the team. When he'd ve away he was sorely missed
I'm actually surprised that not many talked about how big salo was.... he dwarfed ohlund.
I really loved jovo too. - SMBDragon
Salo was really good, but Ohlund was a little more consistent and managed to stay in the lineup (which is pretty important I think). Salo was so good at coming back without looking like he missed time though. |

Yeah you need grit.
One thing I like about Biega is he doesn't give up. Even if he makes a mistake he chases it down and pounds
I am super happy with his call up so far |

Lumme Reinhart Brown all very good when here - Nighthawk
These three would be the more offensively prominent guys...never watched them though so couldn't determine their defensive/physical game |

Yeah I am just going off the McKenzie report. He is usually pretty accurate. When he strts talking rumours it is a little further along than Eks |

Totally, him, Hutton and even further back Tanev have far exceeded my expectations and have proven to be wonderful lil gems on the backend...we've really been fortunate to unearth these guys.
Now the forwards on the other hand...so many of our depth call ups seem to disappoint or lack that ability to stick with the big show. |

I liked Grenier and Gaunces call ups. They belong.
Move Higgins and Burrows or Vrbata or all three. |

That's because Salo only had one speed. |

He shouldn't come out of the lineup, he's a bulldog and generally makes a good first pass. |

Our best Dmen imo have been more solid defensively than offensive.
Ohlund
Jovo
Sopel
- dbot
Are you serious about slopel? I hope not.
He's no where near best dman on Canucks.
Aucoin
Schnepts
Butcher
Salo
Bieksa
To name a few that were better. |

I was watching him last night giving the lumber to someone along the boards and was thinking Thank God we finally have someone that will make you pay the price.
I hope he continues |

Edler will go down as the best long term defenseman to ever lace em up for the Nucks. |

I know it drives some of you guys nuts. He's played around 180 less games than Ohlund and he's 50 points behind him, he should close that gap this year and next.
The franchise really needs to find a #1 guy sooner than later. I see they signed Brisebois today.

I hope salo comes and shows our D how to do it right. He was tough as nails.
I have much respect for salo as even after getting several painful injuries from blocking shots (caved in face needing surgery....testicle the size of a grapefruit) he never once hesitated from doing it. Friggin warrior. |
