Moving at TDL doesnt mean moving his family. Many players do it for the 2-3 months and then go back home. Starting March players see very little of their families anyways and during playoffs often even less(for f's sake they stay in a hotel even on home ice during playoffs)

I have read he is a religious family man that loves his community . He is a partial owner of a Jr. team .

He has slowed down and taken on some injuries.

I can just see him saying thanks but no thanks and moving closer to Sicamouse( sp?) and playing one or two years for the Oilers and then retiring

I posted this because of the 5 trade rumours parts. We sit in here and debate how some would like Byf and Lucic to make us a Cup contender , while LA goes out and does what we want. They have won two cups recently and look very strong this year.

I guess that's the difference between dreamers and do-ers.

- VANTEL

The article is not about real trade rumours but hypothetical trades. I can read that here everyday.

LUcic is a real trade , I have seen it over a few places that they are trying to deal for Byf.

The point was more about aquiring pieces to bring you over the top. LA are do-ers.

Their record shows .

I was leaning more towards the Kings think Lucic and Byf are a cup winning combo. We have talked about it for 8 months on here how Canucks should go after that combo. It finds a lot more resistance in here than it does on a Cup winning team

They have the assets to do those things the Canucks do not.

HBO changed the game.
Game of Thrones is the gold standard for a movie quality TV show. Now if your talking about half hour sitcoms the the top three all time would go MASH, Seinfeld, Simpsons.
I love TBBT and PVR it religiously but until it hits 10,15,20 seasons and gets the volume of watchers that those three get, its not even in the conversation.
Calling TBBT the best show ever is like calling Dopel the Canucks best ever defencemen..... kidding, Sopel would be like Cheers, and TBBT would be like Tanev, a new good and young, who can say how good he can get(if we had an Ekblad or Jones I'd use them I this comparison).

- Pres.cup

we are talking about difference eras here. It is like comparing Gretzky to Lemieux. In the past there was no PVR. if you wanted to watch a show you had to watch it live. Hence the high ratings. Nowadays with PVR and internet most people don't even have cable and for a show like TBBT to still have high ratings it is comparable to the Seinfeld's and MASH's.
Also different is the type of humor. Seinfeld was more current affairs and blue collar. TBBT is more nerdy and has a lot of DC, Marvel and Starwars references. If you are not into that then you will not get most of the jokes.
So the comment of who is better? Lemieux or Gretzky can never be answered since they both played in different eras.

Got to give to get.

First of all Higgins Burrows will get you cap space this year. They may have zero trade value , but at the end of the year saying bye has huge value.

If you wanted to make a true offer for Byf it would need to be Hansen Grenier and a second. As long as you know before hand he will extend.

I don't believe anymore that we don't have the assets. I believe it is not wanting to part with assets . Case and point last weeks discussion about Hansen for a first. We turned him into the second coming of Jonathon Toews. I think he is back on the third line again this week , isn't he?

Over valuing our players I think. The only assets the Canucks have are Horvat, McCann, Virtanen and the other young guns. Backwards move to trade them for Byf.

Los Angeles won the Cup because they drafted well and when the time was right they had good assets to trade and get them over the hump. Kopitar was 25, Doughty was 22, Quick was 25 when LA traded 5th overall B. Schenn, Wayne Simmonds, 3rd overall Jack Johnson and their first round pick for Carter and Richards.

Our best players are 35 years old, not between the ages of 22 and 26, trading what little assets we have to get us over the hump puts the organization right back to square one. Apples and oranges scenario.

The wife and I have been working our way through Seinfeld and the third season has got to be one of the strongest seasons of television there has ever been.

To call TBBT better theory better than Seinfeld is atrocious.

Accurate. The only thing that comes close is season 3-8 of the Simpsons. When phil hartmen /coco episodes were running.

He knows Van likely(almost 100%) won't resign him. He will either play somewhere else if he wants to keep playing or retire at the end of the year. If he wants to retire a Canucks Benning can always promise him that he will give him that 1 day contract to officially retire as one. A player like him would likely accept a trade to play somewhere for only a few months left in order to help the team he plays for long term.

It's not a plausible scenario IMO, the two organizations are at different points in their competitive cycle. The Canucks can't afford to go full Leafs and trade all our young players and first round picks for a compete now.

All LA's good players are in their prime still; the only players the Canucks have in the prime is.......no one.

If Shink was such a hot commodity why is he not already playing on a team that needs secondary scoring?
- VANTEL

I disagree. For a team that is lacking secondary scoring, why would we entertain the idea of trading our leading scoring prospect in the AHL? His development from last year to this year is clearly noticeable. His projected year to break into the league when drafted was 2015/2016 anyhow so I would prefer to not even entertain his trade.

Just started watching Master of None on Netflix. Pretty funny stuff.

Agree on Seinfeld, nothing completes with that writing. Our generations I love Lucy.

If byfuglien had more term left then it would be JV or Horvat. No GM will give away that high of a value for a rental. Wait till the end of the year offer him the highest money and roll the dice
