I wonder if he is still hurt, playing very timid - homiedclown
I read an article about the Oilers a few weeks after Eberle returned for them this year. He said that missing time during Camp, preseason and then a good chunk of the beginning of the regular season is hard to cope with. He said that his timing was off, his skating was a step behind, and he just wasn't used to the rigorousness of the NHL schedule and games at that point.
I would imagine that Bogo is suffering from the exact same type of things, and as a Dman, it's a lot harder to cope with because of the amount of minutes and stuff that's expected of them. It just seems to me, and I said it a week or two ago, that he's a step behind a lot, which for him isn't normal being that his skating is one of his strong suits usually. |

I never expected him to be a difference maker, but
I did expect him to provide stability to the blue line and free up the ice for his partner, which he is not doing at all - homiedclown

Let's get some perspective here
-I read an article that a statistician projected the Sabres are likely to finish 30th again this season.
-The Sabres are currently ranked 25th in scoring.
-Pittsburgh is ranked 26th
This team still stinks. The only players I care about watching are Eichel, Risto, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Kane and Ullmark. Everyone else is an largely ineffective plug on a team a long way from being competitive in this league. - Buffalo--Sabres
And Murray made a lot of moves and gave away a lot of assets for this team to "still stink" as bad as it does.
Right or wrong?
Or does Murray keep getting a pass?
An honest question. |

I don't think they are that bad. Still young and disorganized. They have the talent , just need the coach to put the pieces in the right spots and get the puck into the other teams net. Our team accuracy and finish is not there. - cabin
I don't believe this team, as it stands can be coached to significant improvement. I just think we have too many middle of the road/unproductive players combined with young players to do anything. Basically if you're not on the list I mentioned, I don't see a future with you here. Unless that future is being a perpetual cellar dweller. Not to say that guys like Foligno, Mcginn and others don't have a place in the league because they do. |

I asked that question and was told I am out of line
IMO the team needs to be close to 80 points for him to be safe
if they are in the low 60's, he should be in trouble |

That was by design though.
Corey Pronman put out an interesting stat on Steven Stamkos.
Based on his WAR rating (wins above replacement) if you were to sign Stamkos, you are only getting 2-3 more wins in the regular season.
So let's factor that in for Eichel, say he goes from good to superstar, that's about 2-3 wins, same with Reinhart and Risto.
There development isn't close to enough to make us contenders. Murray needs to add a few pieces, and he now has pretty bare cupboards |

It's too early to make an accurate evaluation of the moves he made though. The results aren't great at first glance, but overall the team is much better than last year. Did they struggle to a point against the powerhouses of the West a few weeks ago? Sure. But they hung in there with them as well. It's progress. It may not be as much progress as you'd like at this point, but you have a team that's pretty much half brand new to the team/city this season and a new coach that actually employs a system.
What we're seeing is exactly what I expected. They're consistently inconsistent, which is the hallmark of a young team. |
