For Trade, people are often suggesting Tinordi from Montreal.... What about N. Beaulieu....would be a huge upgrade as far as a puck moving dman.
Not sure on cost but I would give up an asset for a puck moving 1st round pick. - SMP8719
Bergeron could see the Canucks were really thin on the blue line before the Hamhuis injury. I have a feeling if Benning is trying to pick up a D man from any team he will be forced to overpay.
When another GM is drowning they don't throw life preservers, they throw anvils. |

I imagine he won't be eager to work with him after the Kassian situation anyhow. |

Why are they signing a bunch of guys to PTO when they should have quite a few guys who should get a call up chance from Kalamazoo. - manvanfan
They have tried calling up a few, but they have been brutal.
Stewart was called up to play D but had been a healthy scratch in Kalamazoo and Green didn't dress him.
Cederholm has apparently been okay in the ECHL but was brutal when called up earlier. This team straight up through it's system has no D depth.
I know many made light of losing Clendenning, Corrado, Huskins and Sanguinetti last year and regardless of whether they were NHLers anymore it significantly hurt this team's depth.
Edit. forgot about losing McNally as well. |

Cmon you are talking about choices 12-18 . What are the chances? How much impact would Clendenning or Corrado have? Fix the damn D and its depth. Stop plugging in plugs.
Benning addressed the issue last year by drafting 3 D and Treyemkin the year before. Next year will be different when we have Bisebois and Neill on the Comets.
I am sure we can live with Jannik Weber for two weeks until Sbisa is back. |

Canucks Depth chart for D right now
Edler
Tanev
Hutton
Hamhuis ( injured)
Sbisa ( injured)
Bartowski
Weber
Biega
Corrado ( gone) Fedun
Clendenning ( gone) Pedan
After this far down you should be looking to get new D prospects and back ups |

They are doing a lot of PTOs because our cupboards are empty.
We have drafted 3 Dmen this year that can't be touched as the play in Jr. A Russian who is under contracts with the KHL . Subban Cedarholm Saunter Stewart or McEneny who aren't ready.
It is an area we only started to pay attention to and our D on the farm are just not ready - VANTEL
you are a political animal
the club is leaving no stone unturned. I still find it disappointing they called up Pedan, but appeared to have no real intention to play him, and that was at a time where we were in a rut. |

Was the discussion not centered around why Utica needs to sign PTO's ?
I wasn't referring to NHL depth but the canucks system in general.
Those guys I mentioned other than McNally all played large roles in the AHL for Utica last year.
Brisbois will not be able to play in Utica next year, he is 17 right now. Tryamkin is still a long ways away from being an NHLer let alone playing in NA. Neil, is playing well but is also in his 4th year of major Junior and should be putting up good numbers, Mallet looked like an allstar in his 19 year old season in the Q as well.
They really don't have much in the system. A whole bunch of long shots and Pedan. |

I can't see how Weber can be that much better than Pedan, that Pedan doesn't even get a shot. doesn't make sense to me.
Just like Sanguinetti last season, it would have been nice to see these guys get a chance. |

For those of you who can't put the Corrado/Clendenning moves to bed
Clendenning has played in 7 of 27 Pittsburgh games this year . He has 1 assist only . In his NHL career he has played a whopping 28 games. He has one goal and 4 assists . That makes a grand total of 5 points . Pens have sat him 20 games this year as Pens have put ahead of him other D juggernauts like Lovejoy, Ruopp, and Warsofsky have surpassed him.
Corrado has played zero games one of the worst teams over the last decade. They can't even find room for his great ability .
Canucks should do everything to get those two back her |

Neill put up great numbers as an 18 year old too you are overlooking that. |

Pretty much, Corrado's one chance in Vancouver was to out play hutton but obviously we know the result and now hutton has almost played as many games as Clendenning in his first year in the NHL.
Corrado was a POS from the get go. |

Corrado looked okay to good when he was first called up in the playoffs. after that, he hasn't shown as well.
I used to think Bieksa, when he was on, was a lesser version of Jovo, Corrado was a lesser version of 2015 Bieksa.
so maybe not a pos from the get go, but lately, he didn't stand out by doing anything well. |

The guy had every opportunity to show that he could stick in the NHL and sadly Bieksa, Jovo and Hutton are able to do that.
Says how much skill the guy has.
Jovo obviously is elite no way that guy gets scratched. |

I see what you are doing with bringing up Mallet again for the second time today. Yes I was high on him a couple of years back . Yes I was wrong. Since then I have payed closer attention to my scouting .
I know they are pokes at me seeing we never agree on anything.
You assessment on players like Sbisa and Sutter have been so wrong this year and your assessment of COrrado and Clendenning just minutes ago show that your assessment talent isn't as close to 1000 as you think it is either.
There is probably a good reason that you , myself or Nucker are not hired by the NHL . Keep in mind we are just a bunch of guys on here chatting.
I do have to give you, you are respectful in your style of debate and I do enjoy going up against you , in a non prevented way. |

Dale Tallon said today that the Panthers are looking for a goal scorer. Hopefully Vrbata is packing up his locker as we speak.

What would we want from them? Vrbata + 2nd for Crouse? or Vrbata for Metheson+? |
