yes, i do. i like mason. i'm not worried that his struggles will snowball and he'll slide like in columbus. he's been ok, and had some bad luck this season. a team needs two solid goalies.
imagine this tandem in 2009-10. cup victory. - hammarby31
Yeah cup no question. The amount of goals the Flyers had to score in a lot of those playoff games to make up for the constant barrage of softies going in against them was absurd.

Just a mini 30 game slump. No worries that his contract will be put in the albatross pile. - PLindbergh31
you're being kind and leaving out the end of last season. seriously though, what do you (frank)ing do? guy signs a gajillion dollar deal and can't score a goddamn goal to save his (frank)ing life. how long can this go on?
i'm at the point, where i'm considering scratching him and putting in bunny. just see what happens.

I don't think anyone is questioning whether or not Jake is indeed a top tier player in the league. I think that's already been established. His size, speed and hands have all been put on display as he led the league in the Art Ross Trophy for a lot of the year last season. I think what's going on this season is both a mental (inside Jake's head) and team structure issue, i.e., coaching.

Not sure what the answer is. But I'm quite confident that VDV and Bellemare aren't the answers.

Yeah it's really bizarre - sort of like this weather - 65°F in the middle of December in Brooklyn.

the blown leads and bad tending in the final...they could have won it in 5 or 6. zero doubt in my mind.
not really. it's a dallas/denver mix. and for some reason i see eagles gear being worn more than i should. it's weird. - hammarby31
The Cardinals have been awful for 25 years. Not surprising they don't have a fan base there. Awful with the exception of when they are beating the Eagles in NFC Championship games.

Yeah that was such a let down. Eagles should have been in the Superbowl that year and could have possibly taken out the Steelers that year too.

I think you are right. It's still pretty alarming though. His cap hit is 8.2 million next year. He's got to be a 60 point player minimum to validate the contract.
Yeah he's sort of given up. He's mostly perimeter - even showing a bit of skittishness in the corners and along the wall when he used to reign supreme. His hunger has died down a bit coasting along now that he's been demoted to the 3rd unit.
- Pixote Andolini
I don't see that he's given up at all, or that he's coasting along. I see a player with a confidence issue, but not a player that lacks hunger, or is coasting, or has a work ethic issue in any way.
Just a classic difficult schedule game, coupled with a penalty killing bonanza, and all against the best team in hockey, and a rested one at that. Severely outplayed but still had a chance to win. What can you do, right?
I hope to god that Jake stays on the top line next game and going forward. I hope it wasn't just a late game switch-a-roo and nothing more.
Second line was just awful possession wise. Couturier seemed to be the main culprit tonight -- he's been kind of invisible the last few games, even when the line did OK. Hakstol noticed bc Laughton took a few of his shifts late.
Manning-Ghost was shaky tonight. Wonder if AMac will draw in for Manning. It will probably end up being for Medvedev just cuz - Mononoke
Manning could piss on Hakstol's face and still get to play.

manning can't be waived he'd get claimed in a second
manning would have great value as a an add on in any trade that may occur we can't give him away for free and if he's not playing no one will want him
