What a gripe-fest this board has become. The Flyers played for the third time in four nights and didn't beat the best team in the NHL, who were rested and playing in their own building. Fire everyone whose name starts with 'H'!
Hakstol has been handed an arguably worse line-up than the one that got Berube fired, with nothing close to an NHL-grade top-pairing pair on D and a forward group of mostly 3rd and 4th liners, and has them playing over 500 hockey for the past month. Give the guy a chance. It's been a whopping 2 months into his a career coaching a team we already knew is not playoff caliber.
End of rant. - ChoclitLeClair

Manning-Ghost was shaky tonight. Wonder if AMac will draw in for Manning. It will probably end up being for Medvedev just cuz - Mononoke
Not trying to bash Manning, but the reason I think he is a better fit is his cap hit is easier to digest than AMac's and others. If you end up paying for both of them no matter who you play, as a Veteran, MacDonald is the obvious better choice. |

The waiver factor comes into play also. There's no question that MacDonald is the better player. He's better all around than Schenn, Gudas, Manning, and at times, depending on how he plays, Schultz. The contract is the issue.

If MacDonald is better than the rest then why isn't he with the big club |

I approve this message. Just have to wonder if he's going to be around long enough for the kids or will his message get stale |

Considering that he's saddled with nothing but Giroux, Neuvirth, Ghost and an unappetizing mix of journeymen and underachievers, Roboto has done a nice job.
Except for his stubbornance with Voracek, a veteran NHL coach would know better. You can't treat 26 year old pro athletes like college kids. |
