I & most agree Ladd is a god fit here. He's also a good fit for a lot of teams trying to get to the next level.
Mtl.NYR,Wash,Dallas,Minnie,Blues,LA,Preds ...you get the picture
Ladd will not be moved until the Jets feel they are out of the race or close to deadline.
Not 100% sure the Hawks see themselves as buyers yet. If it's determined they are truly a Bubble team they may stand pat & not pay with the future for a rental. TT seems too high a price to pay for a rental. |

JJ or anyone else who cares to answer , of all the Hawks who had to be sent packing because of the salery cap issue's which one player do you think would give the Hawks the best chance to repeat this year. Buff, Ladd, Leddy, Sharp, Saad, Brower ect - HamiltonHawk
Buff because he can play D and is a beast at Wing
Checks two boxes.
Saad and Ladd close seconds |

My guess is Dano and TT are in the Hawks plans and they don't want to trade either one. But there are other parts they have that they would move to rent Ladd. But purely a guess on my part. |

To me sure you can call them a bubble team they are only 7 points away from being out of the playoffs but at the same time they are tied for the 3rd best record in the WC?
Considering Keith was out for so many games, 6 new players, 7th was sent down to Rockford, TT feeling his way, at times plays tentatively, TVR another 2nd year player who's playing solid minutes.
After 30 games if someone were to tell me Keith would be hurt and only the 2nd line would produce points for the first 25 games of the year, Daley would take time to develop, with all this information I would say the Blackhawks would be lucky to be in a playoff spot, but yet here we are.
I only think we will get better from here, now we have the 4th line starting to resemble what they were last year.
3rd line is still a work in progress
2nd line best line in hockey
1st line is starting to look like a top 6 line
Defense
Keith #1
Seabrook #2
Hjalmarsson #2
TVR defensive #5
Daley offensive #5 getting better defensively
Rozy #6
Runny#7
Rodney top 5 goalie
Big 4 games and took 6 out of 8 points
I guess we'll see but to me the future looks bright

You guys can have Buff, Ladd and to a lesser extent, Saad. While I am a Oduya fan, give me Sharp.
He checks all the boxes in addition to being a key member to 3 Cup winning teams.

Q may not even be convinced that Dano is an NHL capable player, now or into the future. And based on this year to date doubt the Jets would show much interest. |

2nd fight of the year between those 2. Benn doesn't seem to get off on Backes act. |

Benn was already on my favs list for taking Backes on last year (when Davey held on for dear life).
Backes is older than Benn - doesn't need to be wearing the shield. Gutless punk. At least he didn't clutch like a coward this time - though he dropped like a glass jawed princess (which he is).
And any Blows fan who says Backes is "just a little larger than Toews" and usually "fights in his weight class" is full of poop. He looks like he has 20 lbs on Benn. |

I understand they are the same age, but comparing Dano in any other way to TT is not something I would do. The only way I give up on TT is if he plays bashful....Otherwise he needs time to grow both physically and as a NHL player.

Oduya would be the most crucial this year. His being here would put TVR and Daley at 5-6 and that would make their D among the deepest.
Sharp didn't "have fun" playing hockey here the last few years anyways. After the sulky post olympics and playoffs of 2014 I would definitely not take him over Saad or Ladd. Either would be the LW that would put the Hawks over the top. Sharp not so sure. |

If that's the case, he and Bickell are then also roughly the same weight class, and I seem to remember him not wanting any part of that. Could be mistaken but thought it was Bickell. |

As few do, it's old and stale. But what I find interesting, is how most folks here are dismissing Dallas as an easy out in the playoffs. I beg to differ. This is a good team with the cap space to add what they need at the deadline, but their much maligned defense is really not that bad.
And now you add in the much respected Jim Nill as their GM. Hmmm. The Hawks have yet to play their five games against Dallas yet. I have tickets for all three down here, but they are VERY good and quite frankly shouldn't be dismissed quite so easily.
It's a long season boys. Let's see how it all plays out. And honestly, how many of you have watched Dallas this year? Just saying. |

Agree Al. TT has too many of those "wow" moments like last night's pass to Kane and the no look shot earlier in the week.
Dano had his share late last year but playing him at LW hurt his confidence IMO. |

Dallas has a Cup winning goalie...They added some winning know how and have some hungry talented players.
Loading up to win now often doesn't work...It has here but Dallas is set to win now, because they will have some serious cap issues soon.

Hey TF
Hard to dismiss their talent. Not sure they can play tight enough defense for the POs yet though. Nill probably will make some deal by the TDL with that excess of young D men he has in the AHL and in Dallas. |

Dallas looks good. Al mentioned the Cup winning goaltending but that's the area I would question.

I definitely don't dismiss them as pretenders, there is plenty of talent and firepower on that squad and I really like their style of play.
The only question I have is when will Spezza and Hemsky go out injured - because they always do.

It's still early but I can't dismiss a team with +26 goal differential which is best in the west and 2nd overall.

Thanks for the video. Is it just me and I know it's a small sample size, but the games Bickell has been up he looks faster and more solid on his skates.
