I hear you and while I like Erhoffs contributions offensively he was just becoming too much of a defensive liability. His plus/minus was good here in 2011 cause we had the best PP in the league. Playoffs exposed his liabilities and I think he was -14 or -17 or something in the PO's for us that year. Absolutely god-awful in gm 7. It wasn't just the Buffalo year you could see it manifesting.

At this point I'm just looking for entertainment not really a playoff push. Loved the way he played.

I'm with you on that. The guy was entertaining and we haven't had a PP since Ehrhoff and Salo back there.

reasons why we suck...
- Injuries
- inconsistent effort
- lack of confidence in each other
- lack of push back
- too much loyalty in vets when they aren't getting it done and are coasting
- too much on the shoulders of rookies
- did I mention the defense?

We all could see the holes in the prospect system because of the rentals during the win now period.

silver linings that we will be in a better spot to address our needs at the draft.

I don't see the point in blowing your wad for a guy who could be past his prime by the time the rest of the team becomes a contender. There's going to be a few lean years ahead of us before we can start puffing our chests out, again. IMHO.

What are the chances of that?

If he was here, it would help us have 2 lines that could score if McCann is moved to wing, Sutter 3rd line centre...

Is it more important for Stamkos to play in Toronto or on a winning team? Or is there no diff between Van and TO since they are both rebuilding? Tie goes to the Leafs.

Doesn't Stamkos have a NTC? What can we give? Our first from this year Edler and a prospect? Honestly I'd rather not.

If it was a possibility, it would be crazy not to pursue it to a certain extent. Break the bank and not be able to sign anyone else? not so much.

That would actually be a really good fit. Have to think Gallager or galchenyuk is going back though.

I wouldn't pursue him in a trade unless it was for rentals and expiring contracts, and we don't have anything worth what it would cost.

It would have to be during the summer when or if he is ufa.

Ya I agree he will go to UFA, honestly why shouldn't he? Tampa isn't going to offer top dollar so might as well go get paid in your hometown.
Edit: We can't afford top dollar either. Sedins/stamkos PP would be boneriffic though

Yeah, I'd rather spend that money on a Ryan Johansen offer sheet.
