Burrows has to be moved by the end off the off season. I am not sure if there are any cap strapped teams that would want him, but a team with lots of cap space would likely appreciate his actual salary of 3smil.
And with pending ufa's Prust, Vrbata and Hamhuis, JB should be able to make it work. - hillbillydeluxe
We can definitely make the cap room but is it a smart move? |

.@rayferrarotsn says Canucks look "pummeled", "wheels are completely off" & they could get skunked on this trip
.@garryvalk says Willie Desjardins needs to bench a veteran to make a statement to his struggling team
Just listened to Ferraro and Valk on 1040, some pretty good stuff from them two. |

Smart? Everything is a gamble. we are in a rebuild or whatever you want to call it. If we could get Stamkos via ufa for 10mil or less, I'd think it would be no brainer. doesn't cost draft picks and is a known commodity compared to draft picks.
Instant second line with the Sedins on the first and Sutter as 3c. D would still be an issue, but Stamkos would sure be an injection of skill into the lineup.
Stamkos is still young, we'd have him for his best years. |

Interesting read...

I liked the article. Florida is a good example, while they are not there yet, Barkov, Hubredeau, Bjustad, Ekblad and Gunbrandson are a pretty enviable core gong forward. r e b u i l d. #Chychrun |

Barkov - 2nd overall
Huberdeau - 3rd overall
Bjugstad - 19th overall
Gudbranson - 3rd overall
Ekblad - 1st overall
Horvat - 9th overall
Virtanen - 6th overall
McCann - 24th overall
Boeser - 23rd overall
Demko - 36th overall
Canucks are four years behind them with Bjugstad being drafted in 2010, but Benning has built a nice little cash of players to build with and the next couple years our picks should be better. |

Botchford .... the guy who said all summer Weber HAD to be resigned .... yup, lets start listening to him .... altho he does point out the obvious in this article ... what a surprise - the end
it's just for reading and not to be taken literally. It's interesting to get some different perspectives on the club, despite the media's lack of direct hockey knowledge, much like the fans. They guess at what's best just like we do. |

Two of those Florida players are defenseman, I agree with you, but just saying.... #draftDfirstround
I should also note, Barkov is better than any of our forward prospects by a long-shot. |

I don't think "by a long shot"? His numbers in his first year were the same as Horvat's, although Horvat was 19 and Barkov was 18.
Edit: Barkov did play 14 less games...he's better sure, but not head and shoulders above IMO. |

Barkov also wasn't sheltered by Sedins, I like Horvat and have no doubt he will good player regardless of how he and the team have been recently but IMO Barkov is a legit top line player for years to come. |
