ive always secretly felt that way as a segment of my friends growing up loved them


i bet they would have been fun to see live but i invariably hit skip if they come up on my shuffle these days

I wasn't into them, no. In fact I've never been into skate punk. Some of my friends were though. I was huge into the Ramones and other newer bands that emulated them, like Screeching Weasel and tons of bands from the Lookout! record label. Also huge into early Misfits and all eras of Black Flag. Then I got into Sonic Youth and Fugazi and Superchunk and stuff, as well as lots of post-punk, Joy Division, Wire, early The Cure and the such.

The skate punk sound has just never did it for me
