Anyone else agree that Mcginn is the most underrated player on this team?? Most of us saw him as a throw in before the season started but wow this guy is the complete package. He's got gritty toughness but has that soft scoring touch and he's not afraid to go to the dirty areas. As painful as this is coming from a Sabres fan, he reminds me a lot of Darcy Tucker. skill and toughness. Or like Evander Kane to a lesser extent, a little less skill and less cocky. Let's see if this is all a fluke or if he can keep it up. - dgkallday49
He's proven that he could. 2 years ago, before he hurt his back. He had what? 40 something points? 20 something goals?
Edit: 19 and 19.
Double edit: 38P 19G I realize that my first edit could be confusing.
Hope he keeps it up maybe he will get us a first at the deadline - gerbe75pts

honestly, I'd rather keep him that trade him for a pick unless it's a top 10-15 pick. He instantly boosts the skill of whoever is on a line with him, he's a leader, a skilled veteran, and could possibly wear an A on his chest next year, assuming he continues this play. I could see GMTM (beady eyed douche) including him in a package for a skilled rookie or skilled NHL ready player more than straight up for a pick in a draft that isn't too deep. Austin matters honestly would have been the # 6 or 7 pick this year IMO. If McGinn was in a package for someone, it'd be to a contending team who needs skilled veteran depth and leadership, and he would likely be the player in the trade that put the trade over the edge as far as the other GM agreeing. Honestly no fans outside of buffalo know who McGinn even is. They'd probably see him as a throw in but this is all assuming this is mcginns playing level and not just a fluke or hot streak. As far as the winner in the ROR McGinn trade as of right now; buffalo has utterly fleeced Colorado in this deal. I don't see grigorenko ever contributing much, he'll most likely wind up back in Europe within 5 years. I forgot who else we threw in but I know he didn't make the roster. So 2 busts for 2 great players. McGinn = Darcy Tucker in his prime, or a less scummy Milan Lucic. ALSO; when Chad Johnsons contract is up, assuming Lehner is the starter or not injured (again, and again, and again
) or that we have a number 1 starter whoever it may be, do you re sign Chad or let him go and keep Minion Man Ullmark as the back up in the NHL? I don't know who that would leave for goalies in Rochester. Maybe we wind up drafting a goalie in the second or third round this year, assuming Lehner isn't the savior almighty that GMTM expected.

I only saw very late in the second and all of the third period last night, but I got a real sense the quality chances against were nowhere near the number of shots against. We're 5 points out of the playoffs.
Schedule through New Years is brutal, though. January will be the month that decides what course GMTM should take at the TDL.

Bold prediction: Artemi Panarin wins the Calder this year if he has more points than McDavid, even if the points/gm are lower. - Wetbandit1
More things need to be factored in than just points when it comes to the Calder. Panarin is a good player but he playing on Chicago and on a line with Kane, a 7th round pick would have 20 pts by now if they were placed in that situation. Not saying that either of the Buffalo boys deserve Calder consideration but I'd only give a fleeting glance at Panarin.

1st point=totally. We kept the middle pretty clogged and CJ did the rest
2nd=Last year's team won all of November but couldn't buy a win in January. With almost the entire East yet to be played, wins will start taking points away from other teams ahead of us, so a climb in the standings is fully possible...need to earn the wins, of course.

I agree that's true but Panarin is very good and I'm pretty sure he would find success on different lines Chicago seems to always find good players just a very good scouting management

It's pretty easy what course you should take you should sell the players are going to hit free agency for draft picks this team is nowhere near to contending this year he be fool to think otherwise

Agreed. I love what McGinn brings, he's a bit of a throwback to the old days.

I don't like Eichel with Kane. Kane can't pass the puck worth a shiite. He's a giveaway machine out there. If he'd only convert on some of those Eichel passes. What a waste.

I don't think anyone likes them together, even Dan, they have not worked well together all year. They both like to hold the puck. I really like Mcginn with him the best so far out of anyone that he has been paired with.

I heard Mcginn was not a throw-in like many think, but requested by TM.

Didn't Kane score on an Eichel pass he deflected in ?
Samson as always, kept the play alive along the boards.
and got an assist also.
Some of Samson's set ups last night were off the hook, they just weren't finished.
Where as I seen a lot of Eichels passes in skates or way in front of the receiver which led to turnovers.
But yea, good grief, Eichel got an assist, praise Jesus!
Lets hope it continues. - BuffaloHardHat
Ok man everyone gets that you love sam reinhart and you are a eichel hater. This Sam vs jack thing is pretty annoying and something that you keep instigating. Let it go
