Well, by your definition it is. I don't think it's "slop" but it's probably not enough, either. - jmatchett383
And I said it's probably not enough compared to what others can offer.
But Johansson is now a healthy scratch. Also he is being named a someone not in shape. I know his talent. I think it is more like Boston and Seguin then some do. Just saying when top guys get traded they don't always bring back what people think |

I think the contract dispute is the more worrying red flag. |

he will likely get a great return back. no matter what happens between now and when he is dealt. |

He's an RFA after 2017-18.
I wouldn't be so worried as I would have to assume the the cap rising and money from some of the vets coming off the books. Actually might not be a bad year for him to come do for the flyers. |

Can't help but feel this team is on the verge of a downswing. The last couple wins, plus the stars game just leave a lot to be desired. I feel like the next 2-3 weeks could decide their fate. Can they keep up winning 2 out of 3 or will they fall back again. |

What do you see as great return?
Seguin brought back Eriksson, Smith, Morrow and Matt Fraser.
Rick Nash brought back Anisemov, Dubinksy, Erixon and 1st rounder.
I am just saying that these type of deals for star players don't always yield huge returns. |

Seems about right...
The Flyers are 7-2-1 in their last 10 and then Hockeybuzzkill! |

Gotcha. Although I wonder if that's the case. I know I'd be very reluctant to trade him at this point in his development. He probably won't be another Chara/Pronger-type player, but it's way too early to know. - wolfhounds
Based on his development curve so far, I imagine the probabilities for him are something like this:
Hoping for "Mean Coburn". Pronger is still a fantasy scenario. |

I don't care about any deals boston made nor do I care about the nash deal. we are in the hear and now.
he is a 23 year old #1 center. you are going to have to give to get imo...if I am wrong I will gladly say so. maybe your right time will tell. |

With the NHL's poopty point system, they'll be "in the hunt" for awhile barring a 5+ regulation game losing streak. Doubt the next 2-3 weeks make a huge difference in the standings since they'll be hovering around ".500" along with like 15 other teams. |

You don't think teams look at comparables?
Seguin when traded was a 21 year old top line player on a good contract. Had off the ice issues per the team. Was in the doghouse. The whole scenario is almost what is happening in Columbus.
You don't think Columbus is looking at that? Yes here and now is a little different but this isn't a trade that happened ten years ago. |

Not sure Schenn is the type of defenseman Dallas is (likely not) looking to trade him for. |
