Being fair I'm pretty excited seeing Couturier gain some confidence and producing with better wingers on this team. We can all go back and forth over what he is or isn't but what cant be argued is that he a young though experienced great defensive center that it would help the team if he could produce more. Looks like he is doing that right now and I think it is a good thing going forward.
Additionally overall I am pretty happy with the job Hakstol is doing. He has made some rookie coaching choices that maybe didn't make sense but I think he is navigating his first season pretty well and has the the team moving forward. It doesnt hurt that i think this may be Giroux's most complete season to date..G is doing everything right now and I am 100% glad he is our captain.
Finally having a taste with Ghost I can't remember the last time I was this excited about the Flyers future prospects. Hopefully that future starts in earnest next seasons. - opeth_pa
Agree.
I also like that while Gositsbehere is dynamic and exciting he isn't even our best prospect really. I am excited to see Provorov and Sanheim.

He was physical. He wasn't punishing and didn't throw thundering checks, but he was very physical.
Edit: For that matter, aside from the hits on Toews and Kane, Pronger didn't throw many huge hits during his time here (yeah, I could check youtube for clips to show a few, too) but he was considered extremely physical. - jmatchett383
Heres a perfect example (imo).
The Couts line from last night put on one of the most physically dominating performances i have seen in a long time. They are so difficult to move off the puck, move from in front of the net, and even harder to beat in wall battles. Watching them work together makes me tired for the other team.
I dont remember any of them throwing a huge hit either. Physicality isnt limited to just huge hits. Certainly can be a part of it, but so also can physical positioning, physical puck possession, etc. |

I think Ghost will be the most dynamic/exciting of the group. I see the other 2 being much more well-rounded. |

Try getting the puck off of Jagr's stick, even at his advanced age. He's far from what you would traditionally call "physical", but he's a bear to move off of the puck once he has it. |

Pronger had (I believe) 1 fight here. But you are right, forwards preferred to let him go into the corner first. Still, he had one huge hit on Tavares (I think) and otherwise wasn't known for laying the boom here. Still, he was considered "physical." - jmatchett383
See I don't think of Pronger as physical. Words mean and nasty come to my mind. He would cheap shot and stick you. Always made you keep aware because he could put a two hander on your wrists.
PLust he just didn't care what players thought of him. He was an equal opportunity cross checker.

Yeah.
That's why I like the mix for the future if they are all here. Imagine the dynamic Gostisbehere playing with the mean SOB Morin. You could have a top pair of Provorov and Sanheim playing 25-27 minutes a night. Both well rounded to defend and also provide offense.
Fun to think about |

Physicality with and without the puck is something Laughton lacks at this point in his career, unfortunately, and I think it's a big reason his ice time has dropped so low. He just can't hang on to the puck well enough at the moment, and any idea we had that at 21 he could be the defensive 3C who gets hard minutes has gone out the window. |

According to Carchidi, though Luke is ready to return, Hak will probably stick with same lineup. Wouldn't it be absolutely perfect if Streit sits too over Manning and Schultz? It won't happen....we think. |

I think he lacks the consistency needed. There are times where he plays really strong with the puck and also uses his speed. If he can put it all together he could be a very solid player. |

In a nightmarishly funny sort of way. Manning over Streit. Perfect trolling. |

Pronger was more of the crosscheck you in the back so hard you split in two kind of physical than he was bone crunching hits skating across the middle.

I'm guessing that was their entourage from Philly to the Olympic games. |

It wouldn't be the first time this season a dman went from playing on the top pairing in his last game to being a healthy scratch the next time he's available. |

You could also say his Manning-boner is so strong it requires injections to go down. |
