Physicality with and without the puck is something Laughton lacks at this point in his career, unfortunately, and I think it's a big reason his ice time has dropped so low. He just can't hang on to the puck well enough at the moment, and any idea we had that at 21 he could be the defensive 3C who gets hard minutes has gone out the window.

The penalties and turnovers don't help. Last night early in the game, he turned a puck over up the middle of the ice, leading to a quality scoring chance. That's not going to earn you ice time.

He's a #7 NHL dman talent at best. He sucked without Ghost, gives me confidence in Ghost more than anything.

I'm more pissed with Hakstol's forward usage though.
