anyone else agree Virtanen has looked shaky in the O zone. Either turning puck over or not using his teammates - storm88
He needs to be developed. The only reason he is on Canucks is because he can't play on the Comets. That will be fixed next year |

This isn't the NHL. But I agree with what you're saying. Working for Shinkaruk. |

It's clear JV needs 1-2 seasons in Utica. Proper development will do him good. I was one of the ones advocating his making the Canucks for the 9 games but you can see he needs time. |

This exactly. He should go back to Calgary then at least a season in Utica. |

Expected more out of Marner to be honest he didnt look all that great today but its only one game. Strome looked very good, worked hard. |

Thought he was really dangerous in the third. Brutal way to lose that game.. |

I don't think its that complicated. Derek Sanderson 2.0 - VANTEL
googles Derek Sanderson...
Don't see too many parallels myself from my indepth research via wikipedia.
Sanderson was a calder winner, highly paid, highly talented, ladies man that developed alcoholism.
He apparently bounced around the league, wound up broke and then Orr checked him into rehad where he turned his life around.
Now mentors/advises young athletes. |

He got a one million dollar contract and went to a life of drugs booze and women. Ended up living on park benches
At the time that was the highest contract in hockey |

This is a guess from left field but the fact that Higgins has not played or practice during the freeze leads me to believe he will be moved tomorrow. Never seen him injured so maybe they have a trade or waive happening tomorrow - VANTEL
He was injured at the start of the season and has been in and out of the lineup... think he's just fading. But I truly hope you are right! |

It worked well for Draistl - VANTEL
But that's because Draisaitl is actually good
But in all seriousness, learning to dominate and maintain your effort despite that is a valuable skill to learn. It's just question of if Virtanen will learn that skill when- as a winger- he doesn't have as many nuances to develop.
That having been said, though, I find it's more on how hard a player works in the offseason that dictates how he develops. |

I thought about that recently, is definetly true in Draisigtl's case and they are similar cases where maybe Virt has had enough NHL xp to go back to juniors and know what he needs to work on now and be better next year for it. |

I was watching a bit of the Spengler Cup and the Russians had Calanda on their jerseys. I was cheering for the wrong side part of the game. Just say no to ads on the jerseys |
