Since Sammy Watkins spoke out: 42 REC, 812Yds and 8 TD in 9 games
He should have stayed quiet like a good little soldier and accepted his role as a decoy. |

What is pysyk? hes a jack of all trades but a master of none. Probably own that 3rd pairing spot. |

Florentino i think will be a real solid player for us. Martin and Guhle are also very interesting. Florentino and Martin should be in Rochester next season so that is exciting. Interested to see what happens with Guhle because hes not eligible for Roch. Stephens is years away - MCGUIZZY
Yeah I think Rochester will be perfect for those two. Guhle could press for a roster spot here next year but I doubt it. Needs to get a bit bigger but its possible... (Look at Reinhart) Stephens I agree he's years away but a nice prospect. Didn't watch either US junior game but it's encouraging Borgen made it and got an assist on game winning goal. I'm sure he's a few years away too though. |

i want to see kane and bogosian play a few games when it matters. pretty sure murrays idea was to bring in guys that play heavier when playoff hockey comes around. kinda tough because we might not get many of those until next spring. need both of them to take another step in their development- including staying relatively healthy and avoiding public relations disasters- before then. wont be shocked if the kane situation goes away quietly in a few weeks, would like to see him show more common sense going forward. he is a big enough investment, pay somebody to shadow him if necessary. - rover16
This is not a situation you can make go away by having anybody shadowed.
There comes that "alone time" by the nature of the thing, and its from the "alone time" that the public relations issues come up. |

Myers is in the top 20 in even strength scoring per 60 minutes for defense. He's been the most impressive player in this deal so far.
I'm hoping Kane finds a role as a consistent 20 goal 2nd line winger with grit that will be great in the playoffs. I just hope he stays clean - sbroads24

Yeah that's where I see him... Because he's been injured and little to nothing has been said about him recently I completely forgot. I think he's a solid third paring guy on this team for the future. Meaning we need a solid number 2 and maybe 3 though I think McCabe will grow into the number 3 guy. |

Are they sure they got the right Kane here? Was he under 5 feet tall? If so, the glove doesn't quit! |

I think Mckee was a little more defensively sound and overall a better player but I like Bogo as a fourth D man a lot. Truthfully I think only three D on this team are going to be here in three years. Risto, Bogo and McCabe. Gorges besides a few dumb penalties has been playing well but probably only has one or two more solid years left in him, Weber has been okay... for Weber standards but he's and FA end of year and I don't think we bring him back unless its for a low amount, Franson has a year left on his deal and unless he shows a lot more defensively and more on PP I doubt he's resigned after next year.
Hoping this Borgen kid works out. Also have high hopes on Guhle. And curious about Florentino, Stephens and Martin - bluengold12
Yeah i agree. So if guhle works out and winds up being a good pairing with risto i would say we are pretty set at d. Having a skilled pairing in risto guhle, a physical pairing in bogo mccabe and a utility pairing in pysyk franson. |

A very solid 5/6 D-man that is good in his own end and can play more minutes if needed due to injury. Need guys like him on the team. |

Yea Guhle may be a long shot but they must have been pretty happy with him out of training camp to keep him for that extended look. I really think theres a chance that Florentino could make the cut out of training camp (if there is room for him). Just think he has the make up to be a solid physical d-man in the NHL (replacement for weber?). Borgen I would think is three years away assuming he stays until his Junior year. But he looks like he could be a potential steal where he was taken in the draft (4th round) |

For next season (fingers crossed). This is a learning year and a year to let some contracts expire. |

Too bad the US couldnt pull out a win today against sweden, they would be in the driver seat of this pool. Ndelkovic had another solid game, and made some big big saves. Need to find some consistent scoring.
Although its 1-1 right now, it must be nice for canada to get a layup after facing the states.

As far as forwards go I'd say the guys who will be here past two or three years are
O'Riley, Reinhart, Eichel, Kane, Deslauries, (Hopefully we resign McGinn). Then guys like Girgensons, Ennis and Moulson are probably in the get better or you're getting traded route. Not giving up hope on them yet.
I'm a bit discouraged by Bailey and Baptisite's play. I know its their first year in the AHL but I figured at least one of them would be putting up better numbers this year. |

I bet at times people will prefer a pysyk guhle combo or a pysyk mccabe combo when injuries happen. Pysyk definitely can fill in for a skilled pairing or a defensive pairing. Good post buddy |

It is slightly disappointing that there doesnt seem to be a slam dunk guy waiting in the wings. I think both Bailey and Baptiste are more complimentary players that should get better with better line-mates. Bailey was a know project player with raw abilities. His shot being the most impressive attribute. I still have high hopes for Baptiste. Neither are sure things though |

If that's how you feel, you should watch him more closely. His skating ability and outlet pass are top notch. They miss him on the back end. The transition game will improve when he's finally back.
He'll be a 3/4 guy for most of his career. The only way he's a 5/6 in general is if the blueline is ridiculously deep, which at this point, ours isn't. |

You think we draft a top 5 foward this year? - joshs
Depends on where we are on the board and who is there. I'd like to see us draft a defenceman in the first but a top six winger wouldn't hurt either. Prefer it be a European player so they're ready quicker and can play straight in the AHL. The league is a lot closer this year... We could be drafting anywhere from 3rd to 20th this year IMO |

It's ridiculous he had to say anything. It should be a no-brainer that you try to get your best player the ball as much as humanly possible. |

I really like Florentino and his game as well.
They seem to have done well the past few drafts in picking quality defensemen with lesser picks.
I think the Pysyk-McCabe pairing is one that could be excellent for years as their go to 2nd pairing. |
