Gillis did going in to the playoffs. He added Lapierre and Higgins and both played really well. Manny's eye injury did us in.

There were plenty of tweaks beforehand and afterwards, including trying to get nastier by trading Coho for Kassian.

We lost, now we're trying to rebuild. We all appreciate the enthusiasm but wholesale changing the entire roster isn't necessarily the solution.

I proposed some serious change the last blog I think... Not sure if you could change the roster more than what was proposed.

If you'll recall the entire d, bottom six and one player in the top six. I think I had left five players on the roster and proposed trading our letting everyone else go...

I still think Bo has been our best pick in years
- VANTEL

The McCann, Horvat and Virtanen picks are all very good IMO.

The team is worse put our prospect pool actually exists now, that's what gets me excited for the future.

I guess it's a matter of taste. I hated our roster two years ago. I like that we are faster younger, more creative, playing as a unit. We are finally developing a second line. Our first line is one of the tops . Most fights no longer push overs. I really do like most of this team.

lapierre, higgins, malhotra, hamius, torres, erhoff all brought in that year. All were amazing that year. Gillis was an on fire 6 for 6 on impact acquistions. Genius year for Gillis.

Too bad he could only trade w florida in future years. and FA too much involved later on.

Hated his drafting too. Thats where he screwed the franchise was his drafting. It's still hurting us, except for Bo horvat. and gaunce.

Mannys eye injury was not the same year btw

Should have picked Shea Theodore instead of Shinkaruk if Gillis had any brains in his head
- LeftCoaster

Remember the outrage when we didn't pick Shink 6th overall?

Yes Vantel, Bo has been a great pick.......as has McCann so far.

However, with the pick for Shink we could have used a top D prospect.

I do believe that Gilles drafted Hutton as well. Kid looks like he's gonna be good.

You said it yourself sophomore jinx. Not uncommon for second year players. He has moments of brilliance . The move he made the other night outstanding.

He has had a lot of expectations thrown his way. This is stuff you would throw at a fourth year player. I have very little concern. I do see him growing into a Bergeron type centre.

I think Gillis got Manny n his first year. Everyone was crying 2.5 for a third line centre

In Utica... The way he's playing.

Canucks recall Sautner... A players name who I can honestly say I've never heard before.

I bet he has got fifteen more points if Sutter is healhy. He has stuggled but he has also been handed 2C offensive and 3C defensive responsibilities in his second year in the league.

That said, his last four games have looked good.

It's usually my short term memory that takes a beating when hungover, generally the long term memory is fine. Of course, I suffer from amnesia, so what do I know.
