Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Day: Dec 28 vs. Los Angeles Kings; Vets Returning The Vancouver Canucks will have Chris Higgins and Alex Burrows back in their lineup as they look to extend their home winning streak to four games when they face the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night at Rogers Arena.

Canucks injuries scream make a move. I like what JB is doing , giving the players on the farm a chance to see what we have. I do expect moves soon though.

I still think Canucks are looking at Schenn or Tinordi and may even need to mean a three way.

Still very anxious to waive Higgens

Canucks can ill afford to have any more lingering injury issues with the standings as close as they are the rest of the division having games in hand.

If you can't trade Higgins then waive him. Ditch weber and Burrows as well ! The oilers game was the most enjoyable Canucks game I've seen in years, because of all the new guys and kids from the farm. They played physical , played with passion and speed. I had no idea how the game would go, and loved it. I've watched almost every Canucks game that was televised for probably the last 25 years. Last 4 have been killer. So stagnant...stale as torts would say. I don't care if the team that played without the vets didn't win a game all season, I'd strongly support that effort level and enthusiasm over the stale crap that keeps getting crammed down this great fan bases throat.....go Tank !!!!

If Henrik is in such bad shape(injury) they should set him to LTIR for the rest of the season to rest, and go from there. Why risk his early retirement now when we will be lucky to sniff the playoffs by seasons end.

Guys like Hank want to play no matter what the situation is. Be nice if WD scratches Higgins in favor of Vey just in case Hank tightens up again and can't take draws. Vey is not much of an upgrade over Higgins but at the least can play center if needed.

I knew somebody would take me to task on that.

As far as I'm concerned, those jobs still belong to the vets and with this many guys on the shelf, the team needs some experience on the ice. At this point, I'm happy to see anybody coming back into the lineup.

I was a little surprised, though, to see that Cracknell and Kenins are sitting tonight. So much for trying to ice a heavy lineup agains the Kings.

We'll see how things go tonight...

I the Torts year we had as many as 8 starters out after Jan 1 it just killed us plus the Torts factor.

The division is so weak this year I never thought we'd be in a PO spot right now with a .500 record and a bunch of loser points.

They are hanging in there with what we have which is impressive in it's own right...but what's also impressive is that it's been done without Burrows Higgins or hamhuis dressing. Tells us a lot...

Anyone else find it weird that it seems the defense gets better each time they add a new rookie? Last game against Edmonton was one of their better efforts and it came with 3 rookies in the lineup. Hot team with a lot of offence coming in on 3 rookie Dmen should have been a lot rougher.

I agree. The team has played well without Tanev Burrows Hamhuis Higgins Sutter and Hank. This team can withstand short term to mid term injuries. Even with a healthy team we are a 500 team.
