I wouldn't call Ristolainen a great skater, and while Bogosian moves pretty well, he isn't much of a puck rushing defensemen. - sbroads24
risto's no bobby orr, but he moves extremely well...bogo can get up ice as well...of all their players there's only a small group that i'd deem slow |

Bylsma saying Lehner 7-10 days. Keep Ullmark as back up and move Johnson? Or send Ullmark back down? - Sabresfan-365
I'd send Ullmark down

I made the joke that they would be awful since its a team made out of Leaf and Coyote prospects. Well now its becoming true |

Me too. At this point he is probably better served playing big minutes in rocha. Johnson has earned his role with this team throughout the last month and half and i would like to see lehner have to fight to get his spot back. |

I just dont think they have a very good squad this year. 2-0 against canada is never safe, or even endearing but if the swiss can manage to get up 3-0 i think they are in trouble.
EDIT: that was a goal could be a back breaker for the swiss |

you don't extend backups for 3 years. He's a product of the play in front of him. |

damn straight you lock him up
I have no issues throwing him 3 years 6.5-7.5 total

Win two games everyone loves the team..
Lose a game everyone questions the GM and roster...
It's going to be okay.. it's the first year with a young team that has 5/6 new top 6 forwards. You'll see both good and bad.
Who cares about the jets trade, we got two solid current players for one solid player. Could the prospects pan out? Yes, but thats the risk you take. We've had plenty of prospects not develop into nhl players. IMO take the risk and get solid players |

Im not that hot on him, his rebound control still leaves much to be desired. He does seem to make these huge ridiculous saves when the team needs it most though.
If the plan is to have ullmark in the A to continue his adjustment, then extend him for maybe 2 years. I think he is too good for that, and this was supposed to be that adjustment season for him.
Forget about the fact that i dont like the trade, i am pissed about our G situation because this is probably a lost season for lehner. We are already in for another year of question marks at the position because of this. |

There's no such thing as a stable back up. if they were stable, they wouldn't be back ups.
The best teams constantly change up back up goalies because it's not cost effective to lock up a guy for 2.5 mil when you can just plug in another guy at 900k and see the same results. |

That guy is probably ullmark. Id like to see him get sent back down upon lehners return, work on a few things and hopefully tear it up in the A. Then there is no way he isnt the backup next year trying to take lehners job for good. |

Not to mention, that really at some point, you need that spot relatively open and flexible to help groom the next guy. |

You don't know who the other people are...they have to be brought in to a story somehow. Just go with the flow rather than worry about who every character is. he was an important guy to the rebels, what more do you need to know? |

Thinking about the girgensons convo from earlier that i missed out on..
While he has been good in his role minus offensive production, you dont spend 14th overall picks on players that show the capability of playing in the NHL at 19, and showed at 20 that he has some finish in his game to "groom" him into a third line shut down center role.
I have wanted him on eichels wing since the beginning of the season. Let larsson play 3rd line center and legwand 4th. Its frustrating as hell that a guy who scored 15g in 61 games at 20 years of age cant even get on the 2nd PP unit. And yet we have gionta shooting what, 3% getting that ice time.

I've also been beating this drum. I'd love to see him play a bigger role in the overall offensive scheme. He's playing the role asked of him very well right now, but I think he's got a lot more to offer than they're currently asking of him. |
