Elite Captain, wins elite faceoff, which leads to an elite goal, and draws an elite penalty.

What has become of Matt Read? He looks like a shell of his old self. We used to rely on him getting 20 goals per season and use his speed to get in on the forecheck. Now its amazing if he gets 5 goals and seems like he loses every board battle. I really would like to see if its possible to trade him by the deadline.

Med having a great game after one of his worst. He's all over the place jumping in, dangling leading rushes. Him and Gudas have been the top pairing tonight. And they are doing well. Gudas is OK on his own, but he's a very handy partner, brain cramps aside, for skill players

First of all, Schenn had 47 points last season. If you think that is 3rd line scoring totals in the NHL, you're mistaken. Secondly, did you subtract the points from meaningless games from the point totals of the players on other teams?
- MJL

Maybe I am mistaken. Scoring 47 points in the NHL over multiple seasons can land you in the minors. Ask sam gagner how that worked for him

That is a problem in itself. He has no strength it seems to win puck battles and has become a total perimeter player.

I defended him for a long time. He is not the player he used to be. I would be surprised to see someone looking for him in a trade. He's kind of just average.

That is so true. Yes, he's experienced some injuries, (ankle, concussion?) but who doesn't get dinged up in the NHL? His struggles pretty much came with comfort of that new contract. Maybe just desire/hunger level petered off?

And its not like his success was based on 1/2 a season or something. He had 2-3 strong and consistent seasons. He just doesn't seem to use that extra gear like he used to. He used to hustle exactly like Ryan White does. (- the hits)
