Yeah.
Medvedev could be an option too. I know it's his first year in NHL but he has skills and size teams like. And he is FA after the season. - J35Bacher
Medvedev would be a great addition for a contender like Chicago if the Flyers don't extend him. They opened up some room with the Scuderi trade and waiving Rundblad, but a move like that will probably have to wait till the deadline.

Yeah.
I personally think if Streit shows he is healthy and plays well he will be shopped. He too could provide some help to a playoff team. Maybe bring back a 1st rounder depending on what team needs help on the back end. |

The extra year is going to limit the return for Streit. It would be great to get a 1st for him though.

What would they give up for him though given that we already have their 2nd rounder this year? Would be people be OK with a late 3rd? They also have two 4ths and two 5ths... |

There is no doubt in my mind that Streit won't bring back a first. If a struggling Coburn could bring back what he did with time lest on his deal why wouldn't Streit? Granted Streit is older but is coming off a year where he finished top 10 in the league among D men in the points race. |

I think Medvedev is worth a 2nd, but since we already have theirs I'd take Chicago's 3rd plus CBJ's 4th for him. They could be picks 90 and 91.

TB was interested in Coburn as more than just a playoff rental. Streit is much older and has a higher cap hit. It really depends on the interest and how many teams are interested. Having another year in his deal is going to affect interest. |

I think he is an RFA after the season. How about a Schenn for Hertl trade. - J35Bacher
No thanks. After his knee injury he has not been the same player.

Thought this was interesting:
Coyotes GM Don Maloney has been openly vocal about his willingness to go out and get a goalie, especially if Lindback and Domingue can’t get the job done.
“We’re looking at everything and anything,” Maloney said back on Dec. 17, per AZ Central. “We are looking. If there’s a way to get a top-end goaltender that’s a long-term value to the franchise, we’re willing to pay up an asset for that.”
So with that being said would you shop Mason there and try to get a guy like Boedker in the deal? Could you get a prospect like Henrik Samuelsson and a pick. Coyotes seem desperate for a goalie. |

Really playing well today. Should have a couple more goals. Absolutley robbed on one and had a couple other real strong chances. Kid looks legit. |

I dont think an extra year will limit a return, it will just limit the number of teams able to make a trade. If a team can fit his salary (Id be open to retaining salary), they could be willing to give up more knowing he will be an asset for longer than a couple months |

think it limits the return, teams imo don't want that extra year (same with Shultz)..it is already a sunk cost for the flyers, so if they eat some $$ to get a much better return I would do it. |

I'd want their 1st in 2016 coming back.

So what's the deal with Gagner? If he's not claimed by another team does it mean it is more dead cap space? |

Perlini is who I'd be after. That would probably require us sending back an additional piece though. |

No, why would we give up a top goaltender for a player like Boedker? Honestly, it's one trade after another. Shouldn't a team be selective in making a trade, or is it just a trade that you want? |

In the cap era, taking on a salary and giving another team more cap room is an asset in and of itself. For a 38 year old player, a team willing to trade for Streit will consider taking on the extra year, as giving the Flyers an asset in return, so it will certainly affect the return. How much depends on how much they really want the player, and how many teams that really want the player, are bidding against each other. |

What teams dont want the extra year? With how important the draft is becoming, I think teams are not as willing to give up high picks for rentals |

I just don't see the same in players as you do. Also I think Boedker is a winger that be great with Couturier or Giroux and brings speed and skill to the lineup.
My thinking:
Mason FA after next season. I don't think he is worth what he will probably be asking for.
I don't think Mason is that great. He is good, not great.
Goalies usually don't get much but when a team is desperate like AZ then maybe you can get a solid asset.
If they say no, oh well, you keep him and move forward. |

If you moved Mason in that deal who is your starter?
Please dont tell me people are willing to anoint a 27 year old that has played on 4 different teams who has , prior to this season, a career .910 Save % and a 2.98 GAA as your starter. |
