Yesssss. Schultz on the top pair again with Streit. Part II, baby. Part II. If at first they don't succeed, reunite 'em I always say

It's part of the CBA. At some point, the Flyers need to make the determination that having a useful player who can play is better than having multiple contracts buried in the minors or as a scratch
- AllInForFlyers

I'm not sure. If I thought they had three or four forwards after this year who could play by 2017 in the top 9 I'd think we'd be ready to roll. I'm not sure we'll have that. We might just be better off riding the contracts out if they can't be moved. My preference would be to eat part of it and move the rest. Not sure any team wants to take on a non LTIR contract though if the player isn't going to hit the ice for them.

I agree, I'm thinking in the 17/18 season.

Does that still transfer even after his trade from Columbus or is it not removed.
- ob18

Word is it was included as part of the trade.

Hmm, interesting........I had thought those were usually eliminated if they had agreed to waive in a previously completed trade.

Most aren't, but some are. I think 32-55 will be the T2, Godfather II, LoTR, Best Exotic Marigold Hotel II of sequels tbh

It was always my understanding from when we traded the wonder twins that if they were traded before it kicked in they were null but that if they had to waive to move the player could block the trade if the other team wouldn't pick up the NT/NMC. It was up the the player and the acquiring team.

A player can make having his movement clause stay intact, as part of the agreement to accept a trade, as long as the other team agrees.

In that case, a player who was traded before his clause kicks in, has no say in the trade, and therefore no power to get the clause to remain as part of the trade. Those clauses are automatically voided once the trade is made. So you're understanding is correct.

So it stays intact even once it's in place and said player has been moved.

I hear you, brother -- I admire Hextall for being what I am not: patient

But you almost have to believe one or the other has to go this time

- AllInForFlyers

It sucks but what can you do? Ideally Lecavalier would retire or decide to terminate. I don't know that he will and honestly the cap penalties are not harsh enough for me to refuse a buy out.

$6.3mm in cap hits for guys buried in the AHL. A guy with a $4.5mm cap hit that only plays when they literally have no other choice. Another $4.5mm guy who is basically a 4th liner.

No, in the case of the situation in the post you quoted, it does not stay intact.

If the player demands it, sure. Teams obtaining a player can choose to honor or not honor a NMC/NTC. Umberger basically said he wouldn't agree to the trade if the Flyers didn't honor the NMC.

Vinny needs to go for a ride with Dave Brown. A long, one way, ride.

They can scout together. Maybe Lecavalier will like it.

The only one I'd consider is Lecavalier, and it's mainly because they've basically refused to play him unless there was no other possible choice. At this point it's ludicrous.

Ideally, Lecavalier would decide to retire or agree to a termination after his next bonus. Or even a trade where the Flyers could eat some of his salary. But failing that, I think I'd buy him out next June.

It's a case where the freed up cash, roster space and elimination of a situation that isn't helping anyone make it worth it.

I know someone who had two they were breeding. Honestly, the closest thing I'll probably ever feel to being up close and personal with a dinosaur. Just gave me that feeling man.

I'm sure if Vinny agreed to retire that Hextall would have no problem making him the highest paid scout in the NHL, and even agree to have his scout the pool by his house for the next two years
