"Tryamkin’s club advanced to the semifinal of the Spengler Cup tournament, and the big Russian blue-liner managed an assist in four games while playing an imposing physical game. In discussing the matter with Russian hockey journalists, the belief is that Tryamkin may be amenable to moving over to North American following the conclusion of Avtomobilist’s KHL season"

5. (5) Jakob Chychrun, D, Sarnia (OHL), 6-2, 194 lb. Cut from Canada’s world junior camp on Sunday in a bit of a surprise. Still, some compare him to Denis Potvin as a junior. - Retinalz
Hey I remember all you guys gaurenteeing me Reinhart was better then Ekblad. Sure seems legit.
Straight up. I have pick #2 and I'm picking Chrcerun. I sure hope he's there where the canucks pick. |

You keep the right vets, not the wrong ones. Sorry but Higgins is the wrong vet to keep. He is useless on the ice, and he doesn't offer anything off the ice that other vets can't offer. I am only suggesting 1 vet to be moves(higgins) for a specific reason. Hammer and Vrbata should be traded for assets. Anyone who doesnt agree is entitled to their opnion, but are still morons. We keep them for what? Vet presence until the end of the season(early april), miss the playoffs and then let them walk for nothing? Sorry but if your not going to extend those 2, trade them. There is no other correct option when it comes to Vrbata and Hammer and, to a similar extent, Higgins. - Retinalz
Exactly. But not getting assets in slows down the rebuild by a year or two. Welcome to Edmonton and Toronto being a garbage team for 15 years. |

If we pick outside the top 5. I know Nylander and Gauthier are there but Id like to see them grab Mikkhail Sergachyov or whatever his name is. Putting up similar numbers to Chychrun. |

Absolutely. A lot can happen between now and the draft as well. The 2 big Finns are making some noise as well as Alexander Nylander. If the Canucks have a top 5 pick there is a chance he could be available. It's time Benning really starts focusing on the back end. Especially if Hamhuis is gone next year. |

If I call correctly, we had more then one conversation on this board about that draft. The only 2 I remember who weren't ready to blow their load for Reinhart were Lefty and Myself. |

This is the worst Canadian team I can ever remember. Weak d, weak goaltending and no stand out forwards. |

Agreed, i was totally against picking a D with the first overall where-as you two were pretty sold on Ek. It was all around the rumors of Benning pursuing FL's first.
I was wrong.

That's what I would start the top line in Utica as next year. See how they play together, could be a good bottom pairing in NHL. Match under size with oversize. |

Agreed. But the guy behind the bench is lost.
There are no defined roles, they are flying by the seat of their pants.
Dylan Strome has looked good. Brayden Point has been alright. The rest have been awful. Virtanen and Marner are 2 of my favorite players on the team and both have been pathetic. |

Hey, I had MDC as my top forward. Although I've been disappointed by his performance this yr, I'm still a huge fan and still think he should have went before 5 |
