You are right. Problem is that FA will see it differently because that's what kind of PoS he is.
- Retinalz

Well then we see if Linden is what he says he is. He straight up said he has full power to do what he feels is best.

No doubt, but then again half this board goes up in panic and agony if Benning gets anything less then a boatload of 1sts for our cast-offs

Kassian and Lack style.

- Whiskey-Tango

Jury is still out on Benning's trading prowess. Once the team gets healthy he will need to make some tough decisions. What panic is there?

(frank) that. If we have 2 top 5, I want Chycerun. Think a more mobile and meaner version of Ekblad.
- Bieksa#3

That's the 1st comparison i've heard to Ekblad, who was the consensus #1 in his draft year.
If true, i'm intrigued.
If untrue, i like my imaginary idea.

meddling ownership was the root problem with the leafs for the better part of the last 10 years or so.

as an outsider, i see aquilini as the type of meddler that leads a team down the path of perpetual mediocrity.

Yes he wants his payday! But a couple playoff dates is only a couple million, he could shed double that in salary before the end of this year. Dollar saved is still a dollar earned .

Seems like Lowry picked the best team, they've looked pretty dominate.
And as we know, if you don't make or have a bad world jrs, u are sure to be a bad pick.

I believe they say an average of 3 mill per playoff game nhl wide. Given ticket prices, attendance etc, I'd guess van is between 4 and 5 mill per game. Just think, 12-15 mill for last yrs mess

We need d men. As a prospect, JC is the best in a long time

That's no knock on the player. Team canada has a long history of bypassing talented 17-18 year olds for older players. Couple years ago max domi couldn't get on the team, was arguably tournament MVP the next year

It's cool.
In my made up scenario we have off-loaded a couple vets to get some bonus 2nd and 3rd picks to take Dmen.

You know, I remember most if not all this board asured me Reinhart was a lock to go #1. I insisted Ekblad was #1. Howd that work out.

1 playoff game is worth between $4-8 million depending on the market so 2 games is $8-$16 million.

However the true stars do make team CAnada at a young age (McDavid, Crosby). i think the point was if he was a superstar in the making, he would have made the Team Canada cut.

I think they would. I'd rather keep solid tensing. Tough to develop players without goaltending

I can't keep all the subjective terminology straight.
So it goes (for Dmen)
Generational
Franchise
#1
top 4
bottom pairing
6-7
Call up
Weber

Is that right?

No.....just useing him as an example. There's a lot of salary that can be moved which offsets FA's desired playoff money
