Sorry for you all that you don't get to dictate what is talked about on a public chat board. You do all realize that I wasn't continuing on with this until someone challenged me and asked me what else he had been accused of. Tried to defend him, etc.
This is the biggest story concerning the Sabres. If you don't care to hear about Kane, you shouldn't be here. And you shouldn't expect people not to talk about a major issue that's only days old.
And if you disagree with someone on a topic, it doesn't mean they are not allowed to discuss it. This comes down to homer fans not wanting to hear criticism of anything buffalo. Just like every other issue that you start to attack people for bringing up that is relevant.

they really need to get moulson going
or plug foligno on a top 6 - homiedclown
Both healthy scratches so I don't know if they'll be in the top 6. Of course the way Disco Dan juggles lines, any change is possible.
Can Foligno hit someone on every shift? |

Or it could be that we've already beat this horse for 4 days and would prefer to discuss something else at this point...

This is a weird year for the AHL team. We've had quite a few guys that basically skipped the AHL level in recent years and a bunch that aren't ready for the AHL yet. It's made it interesting for them to put together a team in Rochester for this year. - HonkFortheGoose
Yea i was pretty convince that Reinhart would have at least spent some time down there. Would have made a big difference. Excited for next season though. |

He's the one I have hopes for. He's Fasching-ating
But I didn't realize how many were coming next year. If Bailey can take a step and get a center that team could be pretty good. Would like to start doing well in Rochester and have them get the feel of winning. Gotta bring up that "Winning culture" - Zschalberg
I would say Florentino and Fasching for me. The swedes are semi curious too. Not sure what the deal is with them as far as their contract status in Sweden and when they can come over.
Edit: Possler signed to SEL contract through 2015-16
Olofsson under contract with MODO through 2015-16
So both could potentially be here next season... |

It goes back to the dumb CHL/AHL rules. IMO, if you get drafted by the NHL they should dictate where you go. No lesser league should have any say in that. Let the NHL teams have their AHL teams and put anyone they want there. Anyone who can't fit there can go to the ECHL. Junior should be for undrafted kids. |

Some of it does, but Reinhart could have been in the AHL this year. He already put in 4 years, plus with where his birthday falls he would have been exempt even if he didn't I believe.
But for some guys, it is the issue and it holds them back some. There needs to be some sort of exemption or something that can be put in place. |

I was told by a trusted source that Reinhart was wasted at encore with Kane well after midnight the night before a matinee game. I also heard Oreilly drove them and they all stopped at Tim Hortons after |

Right but he was ready this year. He wasn't last year. He may have benefited more being in Rochester than the CHL.
In other news, Sabres play the Islanders tonight. Haven't been keeping tabs on the Islanders that much this year, are they doing well? |

I'd like to see them sign a few college free agents this spring |

The cupboards aren't bare, but we are using a lot of what we have. Time to start replenishing. We don't have a ton of top end wingers either. We really don't have many, if any blue chip prospects at all |

Again, it is a public hockey chat forum. What you prefer to talk about is not important to me. I can think of no other topics that are discussed for four days at a time and beaten to death.

Then talk, you clearly have the ability to do that... at this point you'll just be talking with yourself.
But something tells me that doesn't bother you. |

Not 100% on how that works. His cap hit is 5 mil for the next 3 years (not to mention the yearly bonuses) which seems crazy to me when you look at his age and lack of production.
http://www.spotrac.com/nh...falo-sabres/matt-moulson/ - MCGUIZZY
Buyout cost for a player >26 is 2/3 the remaining salary averaged out over 2x the remaining years on the deal. Moulson would be owed $8 million over three years, so if bought out this summer, Moulson would be paid ~$888,888 over the next 6 years ((2/3*$8 million)/6).
The buyout cap hit would be the difference between the cap hit and actual salary of a given year plus the buyout cost. So in years 1 and 2, Moulson would have been paid $3 million with a $5 million cap hit. His buyout cap hit for those seasons would be $2,888,888 (($5 million - $3 million) + $888,888). Year 3 he actually makes $2 million so his buyout cap hit is $3,888,888. For the final 3 years of the buyout, the cap hit equals his buyout cost.
The signing bonuses and such don't count for any of the buyout maths.
General Fanager has a buyout calculator. Here it is for Moulson.

Those who can't argue, attack the person with names insults and calling them a troll. Just because you don't share my opinion. Very grown up. |

I think they're better off hoping he has some sort of bounce back in the second half or start of next year and retain+trade rather than buy him out and save little over 6 years. |
