I think they're better off hoping he has some sort of bounce back in the second half or start of next year and retain+trade rather than buy him out and save little over 6 years. - Sabresfan-365
I think I agree. So long as the team isn't struggling to get under the cap there is no sense buying him out yet. And this isn't like the Hodgson situation. Moulson is already over 26. Delaying the buyout can only benefit the Sabres from a financial perspective.
Plus, they might be better off trying to swing a trade where they retain salary. Even if the Sabres retain the max 50% of Moulson's cap hit, they'd come out ahead of a buyout and be rid of his obligation sooner. Maybe someone would bite if Moulson only cost them $2.5 million against the cap? |

Those who can't argue, attack the person with names insults and calling them a troll. Just because you don't share my opinion. Very grown up. - SabresPanacea
I neither attacked you or called you a name or insulted you... i affirmed you had the ability to talk about whatever you desired, and then merely pointed out that since 99.9% of this thread had decided to move on from the conversation of whether or not Evander Kane is guilty of something and his moral character being less than desired, that you would be doing as such on your own. Since everyone in this thread knows exactly what you want to continue talking about. |

Who are you? And what makes you think I am talking to you? I don't even know your username, I have never replied to any of your posts.
Are you trying to force your way into me addressing you? |

Then Jack has to find a place to live. Maybe he can room w/ Evander?
I honestly don't see how we could get anything for MM, let alone give him away while holding salary, with the way he's been playing. He's fallen off a cliff. Almost the same with Ennis. Too bad the best trade candidate, McGinn is playing real well and I'd bet most would like to keep him around (myself included). |

Isn't it ironic how much better guys play on contract years? |

Thought I saw Ovie do a little slash on the linesman after he got the penalty. While skating towards the blue line. - cabin
I'm glad someone else saw that. I wasn't sure, and I was streaming so I couldn't rewind. |

I'm going tonight. I broke down and am seeing it in 3-D. Usually I hate 3-D; there are 2 movies that were good in 3-D "Avatar", and "Life of Pi", but I've heard I really should see this one in 3-D. |

There will be plenty of time when you're old and broken down to watch hockey games. |

Some of it does, but Reinhart could have been in the AHL this year. He already put in 4 years, plus with where his birthday falls he would have been exempt even if he didn't I believe.
But for some guys, it is the issue and it holds them back some. There needs to be some sort of exemption or something that can be put in place. - HonkFortheGoose
Yeah, it's funny the CHL has an "exceptional player" exemption for underage players, but they make players who are too good for the league stick around, or go to the NHL where they're not quite ready. Bit of a hypocritical thing that is.

I should've been more clear. I meant try to trade him next year rather than buy him out this summer. I don't think there's any point in trading him this season.
I have no idea if Moulson would be tradeable, but giving away Moulson for next to nothing in a trade and retaining 50% of his hit would still be better for the Sabres than buying him out in the summer from a financial standpoint. |

I think this could be a good thing. Evander might become too lazy to go out and party anymore.

where there is smoke, there is fire
my guess is he has more accusations then everyone on this board combined
when people suggest kane has done nothing illegal yet, it's fair game to post that he had a rap for walking out on restaurants and not paying the bill in the peg
really this is a half step away from being lynch on ice - homiedclown

What exactly is the nature of this nagging injury Ennis has and if it requires surgery/recovery why play through it? It's not like he's in a contract year or the team has a lot on the line. Should shut him down for an extended period of time and let him recover slowly, especially if it's hindering his performance. |
