I, like many others, welcome and respect all opinions here.
That said, the way some present their opinions is loaded with condescension toward any sort of opposing viewpoint.
I know that is not the intention, but please fully aware that is the way it comes off quite often. - kingcong39
I log in at least once a day and sometimes don't contribute for 7-10 days because it just seems to be the same old circle of poop swirling around and around the toilet bowl.
People base their opinions on their own personal expectations which has nothing to do with fact or reality.
No point in arguing with someone who begins with a skewered point of view.
Its too bad. I'd like to talk hockey, but it tends to be more like trying to be a therapist talking people down off the ledge. |

Yea can't say I disagree. It's been like this since our quest for Eichel. I believe the exact phrase was "jumping off the peace bridge" that was used multiple times during that run AKA after every win. |

If a poster cant look at Anaheim (except for this year), Chicago and LA hoping that our rebuild doesnt go the same way, I just don't know what to say.
Those same posters either need to become GM's and show us how it's done or quit complaining because it's not over yet.

Eh, I'd say we mostly talk hockey. But it tends to get easily derailed when the response you get has something to do with NHL16 on Xbox or sending in your resume to be a GM.

To be fair, fans with a positive attitude do the same thing. They take a bad product, add a narrative to it and claim that fixes everything. It can be equally as annoying because they ignore reality too. |

That is because that is where your level of expectation seems to come from . And then you come across you know better than all on here and our GM. Most on here are trying to say are you are rushing to judgement way to quick . Massive changes were made and it does not happen over night . But you do no accept that our any excuses. This team is 200 % better than they were last year . But the points don't reflect that for you . For the rest of us we look at the on ice performance.
Have you compared our tear down to other teams that have gone through the same thing . Your constant Debbie downer remarks tend to grate on everyone. Perhaps , and I am serious here . You start to look for a franchise that is run more to your liking. It just is not happening here the way you envisioned. |

I don't know man. the fact is that, when Murray took over, he said "give me two drafts to become competitive again." if you want to split hairs, we can argue over the word "competitive." But statistically, the last 2 years they aimed for 30th and this year, they're not in 30th.
I just don't understand where peoples expectations were in the first place.
Even I think Kane should put some pucks on his back and do push ups instead of stacks of money.
But I don't think Murray ruined the team, Eichel is a bust and we lost every trade over the last 2 years.

Maybe I am.
I'll say one thing though, as Buff19 as stated numerous times, it's not the kids that are playing poorly, it's the vets, and that's what I have said.
I never said Murray ruined this team or its never going to work. I'm just pretty underwhelmed with what I have seen from this GM so far |

That's probably more accurate. We've actually had some really good discussions here on a number of topics, but when frustration sets in (like during last years tank job) it just takes one post and then...
oh and Im going try this someday if for no other reason than to return to this forum and plaster it with " " |

I agree our two weekest links right now are Gionta and Moulson . I also have faith Kane and Ennis are going to turn it around or be moved when the time is right . Kane needs to be re educated it seems because I see all the tools . Here is hoping he can mature on and off the ice. While Ennis just seems to trying to grasp the new system and the last few games I actually liked what I saw till the Great 8 went head hunting.
With Gionta . He aged a little faster than anticipated. I still think you talk him into early retirement and give him a title with the Amerks. Everyone wins and the prodigal son returns home . I will be Honest . I don't know what to do with Moulson if he does not turn it around because we hardly gain anything from a buyout and he has a no trade clause. |

To me it's not about expectations, it's about watchability. Last game they got out to a 16-2 shot advantage and didn't score. Then end up down 1-0 halfway through on a lame goal. It was over right there. How many games can they play like this where they play as well or better statistically than the opposition and lose because they just don't score? They are essentially losers as a group. |

They are not losers . The battled till the end. I am all for bringing in a shooting coach so more of these shots end up connecting. We need some snipers! |

The team's record has a little bit to do with it, but the general concensus was that this team was supposed to be offensively gifted with struggles on defense and in net. They were also supposed to play a more exciting brand of hockey. It has turned out to be the opposite. They have shown flashes off offensive ability, but they are fewer and farther between than most of us would like them to be. They're a little better defensively than I thought they would be, and thanks to a guy who most likely won't be here for too long in Chad Johnson, the same can be said in goal too. In other words, the area of the team that Tim Murray tried to bolster and emptied the cupboards in doing so is by far the weakest part of this team, and it's because of the veteran acquisitions, not the young ones. To me, that's very concerning, even this early (which it's really not) in the season. It's not to say it can't improve, but like I said earlier, there should be more signs of it than there have been.

They're a group that doesn't know how to win yet. They need to figure out a way to get a reliable sniper. Neither Ennis nor Kane is it. |

We all knew or had a damn good idea what production or lack thereof was going to be the case from Moulson and Gionta.
If Moulson only had one year left on his deal like Gionta, it'd be a hell of a lot easier to digest.
Ennis and Kane have been the real disappointments, more so Ennis. |

Concerned about two Veterans and our coach seeming to think he has to use the captain as much as he does. Lower him to twelve minutes a game and find a use for Moulson and we will meet your expectations. Moulsons game fell off much quicker than anticipated.

Still think Kane or Ennis could be if they were coached up and got rid of bad habits . That is coaching . They both have the tools.

How many games can they play like that and lose? As many as they played like the Boston game where they made a big comeback and won 6-3? Won't know the answer to that until the end of the season. |
