I remember Virtanen was being compared to Kessel at he draft. I remember thinking "PLEASE DON'T DRAFT HIM!!!" because of that. But he won't even go anywhere near Kessel. Kessel is lazy and heartless, but not a complete bonehead. Kessel actually has a brain.

Kessel is a joke in the NHL. Even more so than Marchand. JV will be a good hockey player, he won't win any special trophies most likely, but he will be the guy you want in the playoffs to hopefully win a cup.

The first one was a dive and he was pissed it was called so whacked the guys stick from his one hand.

Marners penalty was worse imo. He took a stupid undisciplined penalty by punching a guy in the face.

Yup. Send him back to Junior, try and get him some games in Utica at the end of the year and get him on a good summer program to get him ready for camp in Sept.

Pretty much the only thing that can be done.

My biggest fear with his draft selection, was that due to his size the Nucks would rush him into the line-up and he'd end up stagnating out as a 3rd line power grinder.

As this point in time, that's what its looking like....

He will beyond a doubt be an NHL player, but the team needs him to develop into a consistent Top-Six player, not a Raffi Torres.

Dave Lowry is one of the worst coaches I have ever seen.

He played Joe Hickets for 4 minutes and 15 seconds of a 5 minute overtime.

and He cost Canada the game against the USA with that own goal of his.

I expected Virtanen to be on fourth line bangers before this tournament started. I have no idea what you were expecting from him, but I knew before it started , he is not suited for this style.

To see him on the top line the whole tournament was mind blowing. He is a banger , he had one goal this year prior. Again what were your expectations.

This team was not that good . They struggled every game.

So Getzlaf is allowed to have a bad year but Horvat isn't. The Canucks have been decimated by injuries. Put any center in the league between Baertchi and Hiigins and I guarantee an off year
